  1. Trucks and railroad yup. That freight can just sit there waiting for the bridge to be cleared. I bet they get at least that middle span cleared pretty fast. I mean the entire cleanup doesn't have to be completed, just that span in the middle. Unfortunately they still have to recover the souls that were lost. That will be extremely sad and traumatized, the poor families. I started to read about them before but got too depressed and couldn't finish.
  2. Same here, I only use it for the deposit on Royal Caribbean cruises and cruise planner stuff.
  3. They can't have the port closed too long that for sure. The whole thing is a tragedy, but the port has to reopen ASAP. The are ships stuck in there.
  4. That is some devastation. That ship is in bad shape man. That needs to be fixed before it can move on.
  5. Is that a website? Get your guide? Sound interesting, thanks.
  6. I thought Brooklyn might be an easy move till the bridge is cleared. That could be a possibility.
  7. Ok so they have a few days but the passengers need to know very quickly what the deal is for transportation purposes alone. Royal has to make plans and things in place for this move too.
  8. When is Vision due back to Baltimore? Decision is the need to be made pretty quickly.
  9. It'll be clear for October, you will be fine for that cruise.
  10. I don't know if Royal Caribbean can do the same but there isn't many options. Cancel cruises until it's clear or move to another port. They can't move the cruises to NJ because there is only one birth and the other ships here will be using it.
  11. When me and a guy from work were watching the video we were like yelling "hurry up, oh my God make it" because there were a truck or two and we winced waiting for the bridge to fall but the trucks made it thankfully. Then the traffic seemed to stop and the bridge came down.
  12. Both amazing and sad. Incredible they closed traffic that fast but sad they couldn't get the guys working on the bridge. When we watched the video on a big screen it looked like traffic stopped or no one was on the bridge other than the construction crew and I was like boy that's some luck there was no traffic at that time. But now we see they were able to close it off to traffic.
  13. I was just gonna say on a very, very superficial, and inconsequential level this will mean a much bigger bridge where bigger ships including cruise ships will be able to port there.
  14. Love that channel, that guy is so good at breaking down shipping issues. This is right up his alley.
  15. Man that must of been scary for the ship crew too. I mean scary and helpless. If they lost power they had no way to navigate the ship and no way to avoid. They saw it coming in slow motion.
  16. This is classic Royal Caribbean how they do things. It's just on a few select sailings, not to worry and then it's fleet wide within a month or two. That's how they roll.
  17. That's really the only plausible explanation. Poor timing.
  18. Oh wow I saw this morning, but know nothing about the port, was wondering if this were Royal Caribbean coming comes in. This is one crazy story. What could have happened that this ship, big cargo ship hit the bridge. That's nuts. Feel terrible for anyone caught in this mess.
  19. Ok, Royals answer through Facebook was pretty generic. Boarding times vary by ship and itinerary. I'm not that worried about it. We have a paid for specialty lunch at noon so we will be on one way or another.
  20. Well I believe this is the way its going for all cruises. I'm not sure why but I think its going this way. Now i do it through the app because its super simple.
  21. Someone I work with checks in for his Symphony cruise April 1st which is ironic being April Fools Day but he is gonna let me know what time he gets and it's available. He wants to at midnight like most of us do to get the earliest time slot.
  22. Oh good idea. I have gotten pretty good responses from Royal Caribbean on Facebook. Something also tells me this is another Royal IT issue that'll take 6 months to fix.
  23. That's out of NJ? Something fishy going on. Very strange and it's concerning.
  24. Here is the other very, very strange thing you can run into and I don't quite understand it. The "pick your own room" is cheaper and sometimes by a lot than "we pick your room". It's always a surprise when I see that and very pleasant one. I don't know how that happens honestly.
