I just can't understand why they took away the fun barcode trick. I find that kinda annoying but I mean it is what it is. -

I definitely check multiple times a day but I login a bunch of times a day and open the app anyway whether I had a guarantee or not. I love watching the countdown. My son likes to too especially when is Coco next for him. -

So are you emailed when your room assignment has been made or do you just login the website or open the app and see it on accident? -
Freedom of the Seas video in intense thunderstorm!
RCIfan1912 replied to Vincent's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I saw a quick video and I didn't think it looked that crazy. Honestly nothing too scary in my opinion. The crew has seen worse for sure. -
I think with all the cruises we have done I think we did dinner at the Windjammer 2 times and it was very mellow, very low key and almost relaxing.

Nope, they never took it. They did put a sticker on the back that's all. We keep them as souvenirs as I assume most do,

Yes we were able to keep both sea pass cards. Have a great time! Our honeymoon cruise was on Explorer 9 days to Canada/NE and splurged for a grand suite because it was our honeymoon. Ironic thing is I was laid off just before our honeymoon. Good news is I got a way better job after that I still have to this day.

Oh wow I guess maybe my theory holds that Royal Up coupled with suite guarantee will make it more likely near the cruise date for assignment. -

I kinda figure today with Royal UP and being a suite guarantee it's highly unlikely to get a room number early and honestly it's more like very likely gonna be very close to sailing date. Just my theory though. I'd like to avoid a connecting room but we have no control over that. -

We have our first Suite guarantee for September and the suspense is both fun and killing me. I figure a suite guarantee could never be bad in a bad location though. -
Oh boy! I was thinking about something like that in the future! Please share after you go. I would love to do a 5 day Bermuda and a 7 Coco Cay but I don't think those cause align or the same ship does both. I like this idea though, 5 day Bermuda and 9 to Canada/NE. That is a fabulous idea.

Our first B2B was just an awesome experience! We were on Liberty for a 4 day to Halifax and then 5 to Bermuda. We had the same room for both and it's really cool because it really feels like home if that makes sense. It's like settle in because we are 2 cruises 9 days. The transition from the 4 to the 5 was really, really cool. Almost feel like a celebrity, I would say there were 34 of us on back to backs. I forget the little theater room we all met in but it was nice. They took a new pic for the second cruise and handed us new cards. Old card to get off, new card to get back on. Wisked off to customs and turn around back on. This was Cape Liberty so it was cool to see a completely empty cruise terminal. Really fun experience I have to say. We did have a consecutive cruise lunch. That was a nice touch. The cruise themselves, well I just it's Royal Caribbean so it was FANTASTIC. We are just a Royal Caribbean family what can I say. I do all the bookings, I typically don't even ask as my wife and the kids trust me with everything. I chose 2 really great excursions. Halifax was the island hopper which is a truck/boat where you go through the city and the bay. That was so much fun! Great tour guide and driver. They worked so well together. Bermuda we did a full tour on a small bus. Our freaking guide was just amazing. A local Bermudian, family arrived in Bermuda in the late 1,800s. This guy knew every nook and cranny of that island. He loved to take pictures for every one at every stop. He was so nice to my little 3 year old son. We were walking about one of the stops and saw us and brought us over to this spot and pointed out that beautiful colorful fish to my son. Anyway great, great 2 cruises. Awesome back to back experience! That was a fun thing to try. Definitely want to try that again. Not as easy to do from NJ as it is in Florida. Oh and Liberty of the seas, love her. That is a great ship and even for her age and needed a makeover. Awesome room, extra large promenade view.

We always find a seat also, might take a bit of time but we do and it's 4 of us usually. Always feel rushed and that's another reason why we rarely go to the Windjammer. It's just preference. Breakfast in the MDR is very nice though. They have the awesome! Awesome! Power wrap. It's freaking delicious. We don't do it often but lunch in the MDR on sea days is really good.

100%, just try to avoid those situations but probably shouldn't. Maybe we stop.

I forgot about the Solarium bistro. We avoided it because I know kids are allowed in there but I believe you have to walk though the Solarium to get to it and don't feel like dirty looks. Maybe we try it next year despite the dirty looks.

That was gonna be my next question or really my observation. We were on Oasis a few years ago and gonna be back on her next May and the Windjammer was just impossible to deal with. It's undersized correct? After that they made the windjammer bigger on the other Oasis class ships? Am I getting that right?
-
Ah before 8 am. That is pretty early. I like to eat breakfast in the 7 o'clock range but wife and kids on vacation do not.
-
Ya know as many times as we have been on Royal Caribbean cruises I have yet to learn the best times to go to the Windjammer especially for breakfast. Or if there is a time. Best time meaning less crowded and chaotic? Is there a "best" time or times? We have been there at a less chaotic time but it was an accident when didn't really pay attention to the time.

It's really making me think now we should get travel insurance. We never have but have been thinking on the last two we probably should just get it. Now with this again I'm thinking we should. We just did our first back to back on Liberty last week, 4 days to Halifax and 5 to Bermuda. We have 2 sons, 11 and 3. On the second day in Bermuda our 3 year old got extremely constipated. He was in pain and his butt was red. He was pushing and pushing and nothing, we were in tears for him. In between the pain he was such a sweet boy. He was like shell shocked every time we had to change his diaper because of the pain. Anyway we ran off the ship to the pharmacy right there in the port (thank goodness for that pharmacy!) and the pharmacist gave us a laxative. I'm about 2 hours he finally went and slowly got better. I think we should have just taken him to ship doctor? You think we should have? If that laxative didn't take effect and quick I was taking him to the ship doctor. Sorry, didn't want to hijack your post here.

That is one of the most amazing stories I have read on here. Thank goodness everything worked out in the end!
