  1. Wow, it's welcomed for sure. I have rarely gotten onboard credit that I remember so maybe that's why I don't remember it happening to me. Thanks for the info.
  2. What I'm kinda getting from this offer as compensation is Royal is basically saying this is entirely not our fault why should we take any hit but here take this. That's the vibe I'm getting.
  3. I'm happy about this of course but when we booked a few weeks ago, maybe a month, on back to back cruises for next year we got 75 dollars onboard credit for both. No idea why Royal is even offering onboard credit with how bookings are going but it was nice to get. The other day I saw it is now 100 dollars for each cruise. Ever see that before? Find it strange? I didn't say another, didn't see it was offered or anything, it just went up.
  4. Be careful what you wish for. Too expensive. Love the ship, love the innovation and Royal being visionaries but I don't want this ship in NJ if can fit under the Verazanno. Keep an "older" Oasis class ship and Liberty here. 4 booked on Liberty right now and very reasonable.
  5. 525 per person! Wow! That's pretty crazy. I can imagine those helicopter excursions are super expensive.
  6. Oh wow, that's interesting and makes sense.
  7. I'm just curious what is the most expensive shore excursion offered by Royal Caribbean that is you have ever seen? There is one on my October to Canada/New England cruise for 349 per person on some train trip. Kids under 5 aren't even allowed which I find odd. What have you seen?
  8. I just watched a video from a maritime expert and he said once everything is in place the port can be open in 5 days. I wouldn't doubt that either.
  9. I'm baffled they haven't already. Maybe they are gonna sail right through it?
  10. Trucks and railroad yup. That freight can just sit there waiting for the bridge to be cleared. I bet they get at least that middle span cleared pretty fast. I mean the entire cleanup doesn't have to be completed, just that span in the middle. Unfortunately they still have to recover the souls that were lost. That will be extremely sad and traumatized, the poor families. I started to read about them before but got too depressed and couldn't finish.
  11. Same here, I only use it for the deposit on Royal Caribbean cruises and cruise planner stuff.
  12. They can't have the port closed too long that for sure. The whole thing is a tragedy, but the port has to reopen ASAP. The are ships stuck in there.
  13. That is some devastation. That ship is in bad shape man. That needs to be fixed before it can move on.
  14. Is that a website? Get your guide? Sound interesting, thanks.
  15. I thought Brooklyn might be an easy move till the bridge is cleared. That could be a possibility.
  16. Ok so they have a few days but the passengers need to know very quickly what the deal is for transportation purposes alone. Royal has to make plans and things in place for this move too.
  17. When is Vision due back to Baltimore? Decision is the need to be made pretty quickly.
  18. It'll be clear for October, you will be fine for that cruise.
  19. I don't know if Royal Caribbean can do the same but there isn't many options. Cancel cruises until it's clear or move to another port. They can't move the cruises to NJ because there is only one birth and the other ships here will be using it.
  20. When me and a guy from work were watching the video we were like yelling "hurry up, oh my God make it" because there were a truck or two and we winced waiting for the bridge to fall but the trucks made it thankfully. Then the traffic seemed to stop and the bridge came down.
  21. Both amazing and sad. Incredible they closed traffic that fast but sad they couldn't get the guys working on the bridge. When we watched the video on a big screen it looked like traffic stopped or no one was on the bridge other than the construction crew and I was like boy that's some luck there was no traffic at that time. But now we see they were able to close it off to traffic.
  22. I was just gonna say on a very, very superficial, and inconsequential level this will mean a much bigger bridge where bigger ships including cruise ships will be able to port there.
  23. Love that channel, that guy is so good at breaking down shipping issues. This is right up his alley.
