Hi everyone!
I live in Maryland and have only done one cruise, the Allure in 2017, with my husband and son.  We are going on the Oasis out of Cape Liberty in June 2020.  A friend told me about the podcast which led to the blog.  I’m a big vacation researcher, so this has been a goldmine!  Also using a travel agent for the first time, which is super strange for me.

I actually just called and cancelled.  It was very easy and took less than 5 minutes!  That will teach me to book after a glass of wine!

Welcome aboard Summer! I totally agree with Skid above. The gratuities you pay is just NOT for the MDR staff and I would not consider downgrading the prepaid gratuity unless someone didn't do their job to our satisfaction. That has only happened once in our 10+ years of cruising with Royal and that cabin attendant was not good. 

Personally I would never adjust it down, I would only add more for great service as this goes to everyone not just workers in the MDR. But to each their own. Happy Cruising. 

Welcome @SummerJoy72. As far as I know, the gratuities go to the dining staff in general, not only for those working in the MDR. The staff in Windjammer work extremely hard. Some may work in both venues. Personally, I would not have the gratuities adjusted.
