  1. Ya. I already tried that - sorry I should have included this in my earlier post. We’ve been on lots of cruises and I’ve never had this happen before. I can access the cruise planner to make purchases on the website - so that is working fine and tells me the reservation is fine. So weird. I’m assuming the app is available on Mariner - it’s listed in the “supported ships”
  2. So I have some cruises in my app - we sail in Mariner this year, but the app doesn’t open to allow me to see dining, etc. Yet our sailing next year on Allure DOES have that option. I also see the allure sailing has the “my sailing tag” on it but the Mariner doesn’t. Any thoughts on why this is happening or how it can be fixed? Thanks in Advance
  3. Pretty sure if you're sick with covid they aren't going to send you food that will make you feel worse. They will honour dietary requirements/restrictions.
  4. Our Genie said we would not have Hairspray next week. I think they’re aiming for May.
  5. we just bring a bluetooth speaker - the sound quality is great for a stateroom... and even on a beach day if we can get away from people we'll use it to listen to our own music that we play from our downloaded spotify lists.
  6. She’s a Geisha at Izumi Lovely Sauvignon Blanc at Trellis Bar Anything on the rising tide (love the people watching - and the ride doesn’t make me dizzy ) mojito pool side yum
  7. Loving this new format!!! Much easier to find roll calls. Many thanks to the powers above for the change.
  8. Friend of mine is in this dilemma also - he’s worried he will test positive still from Omicron. Pretty sure he won’t. I suggested he get the letter - either way you’re spending money to get tested. At least this way there’s no stress about a false positive at sail date.
  9. This sucks, and can definitely hinder your admittance... but a waiver can be obtained This info might be helpful for you... hopefully it's not too big of a pain! https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/overcome-criminal-convictions.html
  10. Not only did we sail - we used the switch home test for my husband and I, and then had kids tested at the airport at YVR for our sailing out of Port Canaveral in December. We sail again in April and will use the home switch test. I'm not sure where you're seeing that the test must be completed in the US, but I cannot see anything on their website that says the test must be taken in the US. Was looking here - https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-need-an-rt-pcr-test-before-i-cruise-where-should-i-go
  11. I think the feeling here is that we're not too far away from entry testing going by they wayside, as it has done in many countries (but not the US yet either). It's so ridiculous - and clearly doesn't work to keep the virus out of the country. Random testing makes sense so they can keep an eye on new variants coming in so preparations can be made.. but yeah, we are all done with it. Although I'm happy an antigen will be accepted, it's still a royal pain to have to get tested.
  12. You're so lucky in Ontario - they don't offer this in BC... and they run $110 here for an antigen test. It's literal robbery.
  13. Totally - I hear you. I meant to say it was good enough for US customs - we needed negative tests to board our flight out of YVR to MCO, and Westjet was definitely checking test results very carefully... If I had pushback at the ship this would be my argument. How can it be good enough for CBP and not for RCCL - it's ridiculous. Worst case scenario they have testing at the port ... definitely a stressful start to the cruise though. Will you update us here? I'm definitely using them for our April trip and hadn't even considered that it would be an issue - so I'll be interested to see if you hear/see anything different... Bon Voyage!
  14. I would argue that if they're good enough for customs they would be good enough for the airline. We're using them again in April. Lots of people have used them and haven't had issues - but ultimately the decision is yours.
  15. We used antigen, not PCR for boarding for my husband and I. We did antigen tests at the airport for the kids because one wasn't fully vaxxed when we sailed (unvaxxed travellers can't use the switch tests - and this was prior to RCCL requiring PCR for unvaxxed kiddos). The Switch Health Antigen tests are approved in the US. We didn't have an issue boarding the aircraft, nor did we have an issue at the port. Honestly I think they just wanted a piece of paper that said negative and wasn't hand written.
  16. We used the switch telehealth for our flights out of YVr - MCO and Harmony boarding in December and it was SO easy.
  17. DONE!!! End of the month no m ore PCR tests needed. Insert happy dance here https://globalnews.ca/news/8619015/new-border-rules-covid/
  18. True Story... keeping my fingers crossed. They're a little busy dealing with the border issues, so that would also lend itself to a Friday announcement.
  19. @smokeybanditAnnouncement will be coming this week... I'm certain there will be lots activity herein when it's announced. I'd bet on something mid-week.
  20. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/feds-to-eliminate-pre-arrival-pcr-testing-for-fully-vaccinated-canadian-travellers-source-says-1.5778453 There is nothing online to substantiate this..... yet. Should be next week though!!!
  21. What do you mean “requirements to have testing at the terminal”? To come home you can be tested anywhere - Walgreens, CVS, labs, etc. unless there is a change I’m unaware of?
  22. Here's a sample of an antigen test that was done at home and proctored. The report doesn't seem to indicate that it was a home test (it's been a fun few weeks in our household). 10219851_Redacted.pdf
  23. Has this changed? We used the switch health test in Canada and they didn’t bat an eye in December
  24. In theory this would work. I just paid 200 for a PCR 7 days after a positive antigen test. Son had minor symptoms- PCR came back inconclusive. I guess this is what happens “when the patient is going into or coming out of a Covid infection”. So just be prepared to shell out and be in the same place of not knowing. I’m so ready for this to end!
