  1. Thank You! This makes me feel better. Humidity and extreme heat and I do not go together! I almost died walking around Nassau in late May this year on our DC for a few hours! As long as the weather hold for flights and travel, it will be a nice warm vacation away from South Dakota December weather! :)
  2. Thank You for your condolences. I have not cancelled yet because as bad as this might sound, I know it would be better to wait until she passes so we can have date of death proof for refund. I did cancel all of my excursions and drink package yesterday so that was done. My travel agent said it was best to cancel 3 days out but that I could cancel anytime prior to sale date. You know the more I think about it, whatever the weather is (if we book Dec) it will definitely be warmer than home. South Dakota! :)
  3. So, unfortunately the cruise we were supposed to go on Monday we will have to cancel due to emergency. It was a me and mom trip and they have put my grandmother (my mothers mom) in hospice. She is expected to pass any day. Luckily I did purchase insurance. Maybe a blessing in disguise with the storm as well. So wondering about doing the same itinerary (Coco Cay/Nassau) from PC on the Mariner in December. It would be early Dec. I have cruised several times, but always in warmer months. Is this a decent time to go? Will water be warm enough for beach and pools onboard?
  4. We have a cabin that looks to be near the Sky Bar. Deck 12. Just wondering how that bar stacks up and what they have. Looks like it would be very convenient. Also, I think I read somewhere about the Solarium Bar having breakfast? Do they have any other food (snacks, sandwiches) during the day? Looks like we are right above that, so thinking that might be a great option for us as well. Thanks!
  5. I recently read something about lots of jelly fish while snorkeling? We are going to be there in Sept. I have done it at DCL island in May and we didn't really have many. Anyone have info on this? Also, are there free roaming sting rays? Do they have the barb still? Again at DCL island there is a net up and the only ones in there are from their "feeding" pod and so no barb. Just not sure how I feel about them if they have the barb. I would be snorkeling by myself as my mother will not do it. What do you think, worth it or not? Anyone that can compare between Castaway and Coco? If not much different, I might just skip it and save the money on equipment. Thanks!
  6. I also recommend the rental car option. We have done that on our last 3 cruises and will do it for the way back on our upcoming. We have used several different car companies (budget, hertz, and Alamo). Price check often and search for coupon/discount codes. We have never had an issue and it has been great to be able to go to the beach, food, store, etc on our own and whenever we want.
  7. so if we don't have our "cups" for the machines, we can ask for a glass of soda a (without spirits) at any bar and as long as it comes in a glass not a can it should be included in the price of the drink package? just thinking we may not always have the "cups" with us.
  8. Is there a way to find out the WJ "theme" from the app or do you have to scope it out and walk through. Just wondering if we can find out before hand as it might make a difference in how much we eat or don't eat in the MDR.
  9. If we chose to walk off with our luggage, can we still eat breakfast at windjammer? I know on my DCL we take our luggage up to the buffet or sit down meal and there is luggage parking while you eat and then you can proceed to walk off.
  10. I was looking at Cortrans and they have excellent reviews. This will be the first time on RCC and first with alternate transportation. We have rented a car for our DCL the last 3 times, but this time we are leaving on Labor Day so none of the car rentals are open. Does anyone know what time I should choose for Cortrans, it is either 9:30 or 10:30. Don't want to arrive too late, but don't want to stand in line outside of port if hot and not open yet either. Thanks!
  11. Does anyone know a nice central spot at Coco Cay to sit. My 69yr mother will be with me and we just want to relax, try the beach and the pool. Have some drinks/food. I will snorkel for a bit, but she won't. Just don't want to zig zag all over and walk a ton with her and it probably being hot. Also, the umbrella's are complimentary right? Will there be plenty of spots with shade? Is there an opton for anything not as expensive as a cabana that offers shade? Thanks!
  12. Can I redeem for OBC from MyVegas and my mother who has her own MyVegas rewards and is guest #2 can she redeem for OBC, if we are in the same room? Thanks!
