This is the model that we have, we keep it in our cruise suitcase and has gone on the past 6 cruises with us.  We do not leave it plugged in and running when we are out of the room (something that I have read is highly frowned upon).  But it comes out every night due to us loving the white noise, as well as the cooling that it provides!  It is pretty  powerful as well as sturdy and moves quite a bit of air!

This sounds perfect. Thank you so much.

Yes..I used them on my November 24, 2019 sailing which was the first one after the AMPlification!

Looks like Customer Service just cut & paste from their website (which hasn't been updated):  https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-royal-caribbean-wow-bands

You will come to find that the left hand doesn't talk to the right hand most of the time when dealing with Royal ?? ??

Yes, Oasis does have WOW bands now.

WOOT! We love the magic bands at Disney. I'm assuming these will work the same way?

I have not seen Royal say anything official on this.

They never did with Oasis either, and Oasis got the RFID makeover so I would assume Allure will get the same.  Allure is the only Oasis class ships without them at the present time.

So just to confirm, Oasis OTS does have Wow Bands?  RCL Customer Service told me otherwise on an e-mail dated 1-17-20...

*Wow Bands are currently only available on Symphony of the Seas®, Harmony of the Seas®, Ovation of the Seas®, Anthem of the Seas®, Quantum of the Seas®, and Spectrum of the Seas®.

Is it loud?  I need it for the white noise as well as the air movement.

I travel with a 10in fan everywhere as I cannot sleep without the noise..and air on warmer nights. I always pack mines in my luggage and I used it on my Mariner cruise in 2019 and will be using one for any future cruises. Most new fans will be UL certified and I ordered mines from Amazon, the only issue would be if you have to use a convertor.

Thanks for the info.  We won't need a converter so we should be good to go.

Hard to know.  Basically, if she wants one service (main-pedi), then book it now.

What they tend to offer onboard is something like a facial, swedish massage and something else for a good price.

I also like pre-booking to lock in a day and time.  If your wife is like mine, timing the service to formal night or other significant evening is important.

Actually I think my wife would be quite flexible with when the service would be offered, so we can use that to our advantage.  When you say "good price", my wife and I often tend to have different definitions of what that means.  Are we talking like 50% off?

No experience bringing one, but if you ask your stateroom attendant fast enough they might have a box fan for you.

    I will definitely try this.

Dont have a link handy but i have a couple of plastic fans from Best Buy that i have never had an issue with.

Think they were about $10-$15 each and are 9" fans.

Pretty much anything modern is going to be UL certified as far as i know.

Do you know if they specifically said UL Certified on them?  Also, did you have them in your checked bags or carry-on?  Would this make any difference?

Before the cruise, they tend to discount one specific service, whereas on the ship, they offer discounts on combo packages.

Could you please elaborate on this?  She already has a Mani-Pedi booked.  Would they possibly offer a discount if she piggybacked on that with a massage?

  9. Anyone know of any fans that were allowed on board (hopefully looking for a link to Amazon or another retailer for the specific fan that you know was allowed).  I received the following from Guest Services and just want to make sure we bring the correct item.

Electric fans are allowed onboard as long as the fan has a "certified" sticker such as "UL Certified".

What I really need is something that will move a decent amount of air and make a good amount of white noise (not interested in like a 5" battery powered model).  Size is not really an issue as we'll be driving to port and it will just be my wife and I in the room (4D balcony Oceanview).

  10. My wife would like to book a massage for our upcoming cruise.  We will have (3) full sea days, and (3) port days.  Of the (3) port days, one day we will not be leaving the ship at all, and one day we will be back on the ship early afternoon.

Is it more cost effective to book the massage now or wait until we're on board?  I know that typically the services are cheaper on port days, which is fine for her aside from the one full day that we'll be off the ship.  She's flexible for the time of day and what day of the voyage it takes place.
