  1. While in Cozumel, we are wanting to lay on a beach for awhile but do NOT want to pay for an all inclusive beach experience...we'll also be doing some walking around and shopping. Are there any "free" or public beaches that we don't have to pay a cover charge?
  2. The friends we are cruising with (Independence of the Seas, 12/6/18-12/10/18) were told we could get "mexican vanilla" while in Cozumel...anyone have any information on this?
  3. that's some of my "issue"...i am a planner...not a "fly by the seat of my pants" person...i need the plan to be able to truly relax on the cruise... LOL
  4. We are sailing on Independence of the Seas 12/6-12/10...we are going with friends...while we all chose My Time Dining, are we supposed to "pre-book" our times? or can we just walk up to the dining room when we're ready to eat? I cannot remember what we did on the last cruise...
  5. Thanks everyone...I was also thinking specifically about the "other" restaurants on board (like Sorrento's, etc.)...We were surprised that it was "free" on our last cruise...It's things like that that we just didn't know or realize...and were wondering about others...I've check the links you've sent and those help.
  6. We did a cruise a year ago for our 25th anniversary and we did My Time Dining and requested a two-person table. We ended up at the same table each night, next to the same people around us. The second night we walked in, they asked us if we wanted to sit at in the same area as the night before. Then that's just where they seated us each night following. We didn't have to wait at all any of the nights and we just walked in.
  7. We are not interested in an actual excursion while in Cozumel in December, but are wondering if there are any beaches that anyone could recommend? We're thinking of doing a bit of shopping then lying on a beach for a while...
  8. I have cruised twice before and honestly don't really know the answer to this question. How do we know what food/drink/dining is included in our cruise fare? I do know that Chops Grille, Sabra, Izumi, are NOT included and that Windjammer and the Main Dining Room ARE...but how do we know what else is? How do we know what we can just walk in and get? Like for lunch/snacks/etc. Sorry if this is a silly question... Specifically: we are cruising on the Independence 12/6/2018-12/10/2018
  9. I will chime in with my personal experience. On my first cruise (a 4 night Bahamas cruise), I took dramamine non-drowsy every day...knowing ahead of time that I tend to get motion sick...and I didn't want to be sick on the cruise. I was MISERABLE the whole time...not with motion-sickness, but just generally feeling "off". I did NOT enjoy that cruise. I just didn't feel like myself. I even told my hubby and the others we were with that when i tell them, somewhere down the road, "Oh, it wasn't THAT bad...we can go on another cruise..." I want them to remind me how I felt on that cruise. So two years later (LOL) last December...hubby and i went on another cruise (6-night Western Caribbean) ONLY after I did some research...I read somewhere that taking the non-drowsy dramamine might have been the whole problem. So, on our second cruise I didn't take it each day. I just went and packed some to take with me "just in case". The only time I ended up feeling sick was after an excursion day in port where we rode a charter bus all day. That evening, back on the ship, I was a bit sea sick...So, i took dramamine and was perfectly fine the next morning. We're cruising again 12/6-12/10...Let's see how this goes.
  10. thank you! We're cruising 12/6-12/10 and I want to check to see if my daily coffee fix (LOL) is covered by one of the drink packages or if I should just pay out of pocket.
  11. does this include coffees on the Independence? and is it Illy or Starbucks on Independence?
