  1. This is so cool. I was just asking about an article comparing all the features of the ships fleet wide in a topic I started and then I see this. Awesome!
  2. I’m driven by itinerary myself, as you can see from my previous sailings. I want to see new destinations with each booking. But in the long run, if I can visit new places booking on ships I’ve not been on, then it’s a win-win for me. Actually, the port of origin is also a big factor for me. I try to avoid having to fly to a port. It’s a good thing ships are rotated on a regular basis. Being from Jacksonville, I have 4 ports within driving distance, although I always fly to FLL and MIA. Just from these ports alone, I can get on about a third of the ships on the fleet. If I add the Northeast ones in NJ, NY, MD, I cover more than half the fleet. The long range plan is go on all the Royal ships, but the immediate, attainable goal of going on ships from nearby ports should keep me sailing 1-2 times a year for a good amount of time.
  3. Hoping it will be a nice crew member doing the weigh in, not the guy with the attitude. ?
  4. I have the 2019-2020 Fleet Guide comparing the features and amenities by class. Is there an article comparing all 27 ships on the fleet?
  5. There were weight limits posted according to two height ranges (below 6’ and 6’ & above). I think they are 230lbs and 250lbs respectively. They weighed us before letting us in the briefing room.
  6. I've gotten good itineraries on my sailings ... almost no repeats on ports except Nassau and Coco Cay Oasis Class - Harmony - San Juan, PR | Labadee | St Maarten Quantum Class - Ovation - Alaska Voyager Class - Mariner - Nassau | Perfect Day Radiance Class - Serenade - Ponce, PR | Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis | Castries, St Lucia | St George, Grenada| Bridgetown, Barbados | St Johns, Antigua; Sovereign Class - Majesty - Nassau | Pre-Perfect Day Coco Cay My planned cruise for November 2020: Vision Class - Vision - Puerto Limon, Costa Rica | Colon, Panama | Cartagena, Colombia | Oranjestad, Aruba | Willemstad, Curacao
  7. I've taken this magnet with me on MOST of my cruises. Too bad I can't say ALL of my cruises because I left the first one I made on the Harmony.
  8. As soon as you are connected to the ship's WiFi and signed-in to your VOOM account, you'd be good to go with FB Messenger and iMessage. Your caregiver staff should have iMessage too.
  9. Tagging your luggage shouldn't be a main concern as you can do that at the port on embarkation day. I think you should be more concerned with having your Set Sail Pass. I'm not sure if you can print that out at the port after providing your personal information at check-in.
  10. I have been on 5 Royal Caribbean cruises so far. Now I'm having this desire to sail on all the ships in the RCCL fleet. That would be 22 ships to go for me. Would this be a worthwhile endeavor? How would this compare to just aiming for sailing on one ship in each class? That would just be three more classes to go - Freedom Class, Vision Class, and Empress My cruises so far: Oasis Class - Harmony Quantum Class - Ovation Voyager Class - Mariner Radiance Class - Serenade Sovereign Class - Majesty
  11. The second guy at the desk was very nice and so was our instructor named "Flo". Both these guys made up for the first guy's lack of social skills.
  12. I did not get his name because he was not wearing a name tag. While I was walking away and "counting 1-10", I wanted so much to get his name, but after a few deep breaths, I just let it go.
  13. I had a 1:20PM reservation for the iFly on the Ovation last week. When I checked "My Calendar" on the stateroom TV, the entry simply said "iFly 1:20PM-2:20PM". That led me to believe that I can go at any time within that time frame for my turn on the iFly. There was no mention of me having to be there 15 minutes before my appointment. The lady who booked my reservation on Day 1 said nothing about it. So I arrived at the sign in desk at 1:30PM (10 minutes late). The guy at the desk ask for my reserved time. When I said "1:20PM", he began to show some attitude and told me that I was late, that I should have been there 15 minutes ahead of the time. I said that I did not get any such instructions. I asked, "Have I lost my reservation?", he said I have. Then I asked, "Can I get another reservation?" Without checking or even looking at the screen, he coldly replied, "No you can't, we're booked till the end of the cruise." When I tried to make a reservation on the Royal IQ app for that same day, I saw three time slots available. I was able to book the 3:00PM time slot. I went back as soon as I can to make sure my app reservation went through. Another guy was there and assured me I got the reservation. I wanted so much to complain about this to the Sports Manager on board but I just let it go. But I feel like that guy has no place in a job that has direct interaction with guests on a cruise ship. It was not even a busy day for them, I was the only one there. He needs to learn something from the Disney playbook where even the most ridiculous requests from guests get the reply, "Let me see what we can do about that or let me see how we can make your day more magical." I'm so glad I did not let this incident make me give up on going on the iFly. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the cruise for me.
  14. Just got off the Ovation about 3 hours ago, I’m actually posting this from SEA-TAC Airport. I hope you get good weather so the ship can go into Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. We had to turn back because of the fog. I hope the sky will be clear in Juneau when you get there. Some passengers saw the Northern Lights; I didn’t because I fell asleep while waiting for them to appear. That’s one of my greatest regrets on this cruise. I asked a lady to Airdrop pictures she took of them. For the White Pass Train Ride in Skagway, if at all possible, get the last car. That way, you get to see both sides of the railroad. I stayed on the back platform for most of the ride. FYI, it was very windy and chilly. On the left side, you will see the mountains and the waterfalls. On the right you see the valley and the ravines. In Victoria, you might want to visit the Buchart Gardens, it’s a visual feast.
  15. The comedian Gary Caouette had a great joke/story last night about trick-or-treating onboard. I don’t if it was true or not but he said he helped a kid get $700+ in treats because the guests gave money instead of candy.
  16. Let me know if you have any more questions. Enjoy your cruise and may the Force be with you!
  17. Now this needs some explanation... I originally ordered Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream but I changed it to Baked Alaskan. My waiter brought me both. Then he also brought me a serving of “Leche Flan” (Filipino Custard). Plus they were celebrating Royal’s 50th so they also gave us the 50th cake... that is why I got a dessert spread.
  18. Lobsters (included in the complimentary menu) on the second formal night I had six!
  19. @BaikG and @firebuck, here is the info I gathered on the Pub and Fish & Ships. The Unlimited Dining Package can be used at both restaurants. The answers were iffy about the other dining packages. For Fish & Ships, the UDP can be used for the items on the right.
  20. Hoping Dorian is done by the time I fly home to Jacksonville this Friday.
  21. Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier This is the “best” view of this supposed highlight of the cruise! Seriously, we didn’t even make it there. The captain made an announcement that we were turning back because it was unsafe to proceed because of the fog. Now every time the horn sounds, I get annoyingly reminded of the fog that “ruined” my day.
  22. I got this invitation today. I wonder what it’s about. Vistarama? Roboshow?
  23. What do you all do when you board early? I flew into Seattle the day before the sailing. I took the earliest time slot offered by the hotel shuttle to the Port. I was on the ship by around 11. After having lunch at the Windjammer, I had nothing else to do... other than check the fire doors to see of they had been opened. I have now realized I hadn’t missed much all those times I boarded after lunch in my previous cruises.
  24. Virtual Symphony I don’t know what to say about this show. I was a bit underwhelmed. I found it weird that people applauded after each number. I guess it was just their way of getting into the virtual experience. The lady next to me got so much into it that she started conducting too. I was afraid the “orchestra” might get confused as to which conductor to follow. I was ok with her “conducting” but when she started humming along with the music, that was just too much for me. (I hope she doesn’t join this message board and call me out for gossiping... ha ha)
  25. Pixels... it’s the first show of its kind that I’ve seen on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I also need to point out that the huge screen in the Two70 is awesome!
