  1. Its fun to hear about Matt/RCB on another media. I feel like I know him, yet we've never met.
  2. Geeez, promises to call back failed. RCCL is slacking.
  3. How long is each evaluation period? 6 Months or a year?
  4. Sadly, while planning my upcoming Alaska cruise on explorer (I'm missing the group cruise by about three or four weeks). Every time I try to plan an excursion or any other thing that's fun, I've been getting this error screen. The other picture was stealthily taken by the photographer as he watched me yell at the internet. That's me working on a yacht, using my hotspot to surf the rccl site and fantasizing about cruising (and not working) on what is essentially a MUCH bigger yacht. The background blur is actually angel island in SF. But I digress. I keep getting the error page when I want to plan or do anything. It wasn't doing this a few weeks ago. Perhaps another update that hasn't been tested to fix the broken update?? 1st world problems, but nonetheless, problems.
  5. Haha. It's almost comical at this point. At least the thing I like to do (search for cruises I want to go on) still works. Plus, I'm too far out from my next cruise to be concerned. Others in here may not be so lucky.
  6. Well, almost a month later and I still don't have half the options working. No countdown clock, etc. Hmmmm
  7. I think I speak for a majority of people when I say I definitely do not have a countdown at all. It's Clear your website is better than mine haha #BlackCats
  8. I found a solution to the website! It's booze. As for my cat, he can't be bribed into accepting anything but purrfection. He also knows "too soon" of a roll out of a website when he sees one. Happy Friday!
  9. Looks like a link was changed and they added eDocs option. Unfortunately, none of my cruises are less than 90 days out. Stateroom details & eDOCs
  10. Looks like things are working a bit better on my end. Cruise planner connects to my 2 cruises without a 404 error or issue. Still no way to find the countdown clocks without digging deep or using the old website via @twangster link he provided.
  11. Still too far away.... OMG I just saw you're in the 30's on your countdown....awesome. Have a great trip!
  12. rjac - that link works best for me. I can access my 2nd cruise that won't show up on the new platform. IMO the site is now on a basic functionality basis and using these backdoor threads is the only way to get things done. It really is a head scratcher on why this continues to not get fixed. I truly can't imagine a person who normally cruises a different line, to visit the site and succefully book a cruise. No less schedule excursions. Anyway... it's fun to see my first ever post on this blog flourishing with opinions and visitors. It's a pity the subject matter isn't more fun....like a Royal Suite and a hot tub on the balcony!
  13. As I was on the phone with CR (Casino Royale) booking a Deluxe Drink Package ($45PP/DAY, not bad IMO) I asked about the website. I find the CR operators are a bit more open about answering my sometimes bizarre questions(compared to the regular RCCL phone line). In this case, I was told web site things are going to start getting better Monday, but not completely fixed. Of course everything we are hearing on RCCL end should be taken with a grain of salt...as they are trying hard to do damage control, I am sure. Like @Matt said above, give it a day or two. Although I myself am heavily addicted to the casual browsing (and purchasing of cruises) on the website, I find logging into my "Cruise Countdown Calendar" app almost as satisfying as seeing it on the official website. That seems to be holding off the withdrawals for now. When my cruise does come, I'll be at the port @10:15am with a smile & valid passport.. even if the website doesn't think I exist. #YOLObookitByCalling *After watching @Matt on Facebook live today, I was excited to hear about the coverage at the upcoming media event Wednesday.
  14. Totally. I'm waiting until they fix this pile of burning rubble
  15. Hmmmm. All was well until I clicked LOGIN. Seems to just hourglass me to death. At least my next cruise countdown is less than 6 months!
  16. I totally clicked it. I'm a sucker...Guess what Matt. You were right! As a side note, the guy who threw the first fist, got his A** handed to him. The key is, don't fight.
  17. Has anyone else noticed the overnight change. New background and graphics going on. Plus an enhanced security update. I hope this leads to less site crashes and easier booking/searches.
  18. Agreed. If the drink total is $18, you pay $6.
  19. I imagine I would give the remaining alcohol to my stateroom attendant, I've had some be extra cool and deserve a surprise boose present. All I know is I can't wait for sail away. Ill have the tub heating up for Muster Drill. Then BAM! Back to the suite for constant use of it's separate bedroom with the king-size bed and private bathroom with ANOTHER TUB! Matt was totally spot on. I played a 60 second clip of the Podcast to my wife. She now understand why I have refused to get off the ship. Fortunately, it's a family group cruise, so she will join the group & get off the ship. The only time I plan to leave the room is to allow room cleaning and turndown service. Or I could just stay out on the private balcony. At 257 square ft., its like it's own stateroom, on the BUMP of the ship, noless. I'm sure it takes an hour to clean the 1633 square ft. Bedroom, living room, bar, & Full guest bath. I wonder if I should request the Baby Grand Piano be polished to my liking. Pardon the last few sentences. I had my pinkie up in the air and was talking with a british accent. (It didn't sound as hilarious when I read it back out loud haha), I will definitely be giving a full report to Matt once its done. Pictures/Videos will be had & experiences remembered forever.
  20. perhaps a little off-topic, but sort of on-topic. Has anyone listened to the most recent podcast? I just listened and heard @Matt talk about the hot tub on the balcony. I had tingles going down my arms thinking of how how excited & fortunate I am to get that experience. Although gambling down in the casino seemed to help discount this cruise by an extra 40% regular rates. Ironic the casino gods are here for the ticket discount but gone when I'm on the ship gambling lol!
  21. #YOLObookit is what started this whole thing. I blame and thank @Matt at the same time :-)
  22. It sounds like the concierge will be my new best friend aboard. Thank you all for the replies so far. If anyone else has additional information...feel free to chime in. For your amussment...here is a VERY poorly photoshopped picture of my friends & I when we get inside the cabin.
  23. Hello Everyone, I had the opportunity to get a Royal Suite (RS) on an upcoming Liberty of the Seas sailing out of Galveston. Let's just say, its normally 11K for 2 ppl (give or take a grand) and I got it for the same price as myJS in Alaska! (4700). I have already sent some of my questions to Matt, but in this case, he hasn't been in a RS. (Although the Loft Suite on Harmony looked awesome) I digress. I have the following questions & I am hoping some of you have personally had experiences with this type of stateroom on any ship: Will I be offered a tour of the bridge? Will the concierge walk me onto the ship first? How will it work once the frictionless embarkation is set in place? I know there is a piano in the room, but on the Liberty, has anyone used it? Is it in tune ? (one of our friends is a pianist). Also, does the auto player allow guests to add new modern music piano data? This one Matt might know. I want to throw a little cocktail hour in the suite and wasn't sure what to plan for price-wise. How does RCCL charge for that? That's all for now. I'm sure I have more questions, but knowing any of this would be both fun and good to know beforehand. -Dan G
