  1. If you have special dietary restrictions, I would also recommend speaking to the head waiter because they can arrange for the chef to prepare something special for you. Your waiters will obviously help you too but the head waiter is your "gate keeper" to getting something different than what the menu offers.
  2. Glad to be of service! And feel free to ask all the questions you have, that's what this forum is here for!

  4. Don't worry about the waitlist. If you get to your cruise and you are still on the waitlist, just go speak with the head waiter on the day you board your cruise and ask them about availability in moving from second to first seating. If you get there early (by 1pm or so), you should have no problem getting changed. You should keep in mind the table and/or location of the table may not be ideal but better to eat at 6, right? Frankly, I don't love My Time Dining. I've had friends that did not care for it and personally, I prefer to have the same wait staff at the same table in the MDR. I'm more of a traditionalist in that sense but I'd keep second seating before opting for My Time. Just my 2 cents. Welcome to the boards and feel free to ask as many questions as you like!
  5. I think the only impact Sunday may have on your time in port is if you venture off on your own at all. In terms of the Royal Caribbean excursions, should be no change from what the excursion description reads.
  6. Welcome Tate and David! Great to have you all join us. I hope I'll see you all posting around the forums and sharing your cruise planning experiences with us :)

  8. I haven't been there but are you considering a Royal Caribbean excursion or something on your own? I can tell you that in other ports when we sail in on a Sunday or some holiday that the locals are smart enough to open shops up to take advantage of 2-3,000 tourists coming into town. You may have trouble with restaurants or shops being open further away from the cruise port area, however.
  9. I did not but I can tell you I have not heard a peep from Royal Caribbean about anything in the last year or two. Royal Caribbean has been supporting the area around Labadee with a few charity events and such, but nothing about developing a port.
  10. Dude, you just described my perfect cruise. Sign me up for this one if it ever becomes a reality.
  11. I think New Years Eve on a cruise must be a lot of fun with everyone really into it
  12. I know what you mean. I try to explain to my wife that it's more expensive not to go on them :P

  14. When it comes to Caribbean beach days, really hard to beat Labadee. I really like what this island has become.
  15. If you want a particular cabin (like hump balcony), this is a must. That really is the best part of booking in advance
  16. I'd be worried I was holding back the team
  17. Agreed, definitely worth seeing if you've never been before.

  19. Hi Pete, I've read the reports of Allure's propulsion issues but as you can see, Royal Caribbean isn't say much about it. As long as they can still dock, they don't feel compelled to make an issue of it. Of course we always want as much time in port as possible, but you're still stopping where you hoped and Allure is a beautiful ship so if this all means more time onboard, I can think of worse places to be "stuck" on. ;) For St Thomas, a day at Magens Bay is hard to go wrong with: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/06/25/excursion-focus-magens-bay Nassau, I'd probably just stay onboard especially if you've ever been to Nassau before. Hate to sound jaded but just being honest. I love St Maarten, especially the French side. Orient Beach was the most beautiful beach I've ever been to, so might be worth checking out. We went to Bikini Beach and had great service: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/10/08/excursion-focus-bikini-beach-st-martin Post if you have more questions (and thanks for checking this site out too!)
  20. Yes, I have to agree. I've seen the show a few times and even with the ship really moving they pull off the tricks flawlessly. Quite impressive
  21. My wife is a big fan of the ice show on Freedom of the Seas
  22. What is everyone's favorite non-Broadway stage show on a Royal Caribbean ship?
