I wouldn't worry at all. We sailed in February and LOVED it.
We had terrific service on our cruise. We loved the ship and like Steve, would go back in a heart beat!
Our MDR waiter was one of the best I've ever had. I could try digging up his name if you like.

I stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. Great hotel for the money.
We had considered El Convento too. We also chose our hotel with the idea we wanted to be able to walk from our hotel to anywhere in old San Juan, which may not be a consideration for you. El Convento has favorable reviews from what I recall.

I'm leading a group on a Jewel of the Seas sailing on November 15th departing from San Juan. We still haven't booked airfare as the price is still hanging up around $400 from Hartford, CT.
I expected the price to be closer to $350.00 and I'm wondering if I may be incorrect. I'm hoping that somone else with experience flying into SJU from New England has some advice.
I flew to SJU from JFK but we waited for the airfare to appear on Southwest/JetBlue.
I believe we ended up flying Southwest just for the ability to keep changing prices as needed.

Not anytime soon. Adventure of the Seas' upgrades were part of a fleet-wide program and it should be set for another few years.

When you go to checkin at the port don't they look into your bags?
Your carry on items go through a metal detector but generally they are more concerned with weapons. Also, these people here are security and not Royal Caribbean security.

Navigator of the Seas does not have pre-reservable entertainment. That's pretty much for the Oasis class ships only at this point.

If you get your stuff pressed it's not too bad price wise.
Look for the weekly special where you can fill a laundry bag for like $25. We do it every cruise to save.

One more ask your attendent for 2 compasses or stop by GS , we love to brose them while in bed, planning for our next day and we don't like to share . If we each have on we can then discuss and plan.

I never installed their app, it was never that impressive to me. I know with Quantum they are upgrading everything so hoping it will get better soon!

BOGO 50% off is now back until September 15th. Run don't walk! ;)
The 3rd and 4th passengers free is also back, which I think is a better deal if you were planning on having 3 or 4 people in your stateroom.
Regardless, you should look at re-pricing any existing cruises to see if this deal benefits you.

I tend to get motion sickness, inside cabins will sometime feel to closed in , but if the seas are rough I can't look out at the water.
I try to stay low and midship and do ok . I do like being rocked to sleep however.
Most experts recommend being low and mid ship to minimize sea sickness effects

If you place money in your onboard account and don't use it all what happens? Do youy get the cash back or do they give you credits or something?
Unused onboard credit is lost. Not sure about if you place too much money. My advice is only pay down your account after you have a few charges on there. As long as you do it before the end of your cruise, you wont get any charges on your credit card.

hanks bcarney. That leads to a conversation my wife and I just had. I was under the assumption that we would both scuba dive at one of the ports. We are both avid scuba divers but she seems to be uncomfortable with leaving the kids while we go on an excursion. She says we are "too far" from getting back to them if something arise.
My response, is that she's crazy :) I think they will be perfectly fine and they will LOVE adventure ocean.
I need to find a way to persuade her...

We had the exact same scenario. Prior to our Navigator of the Seas cruise, there was no way we were going to leave my daughter in AO while we went to port.
By the time we got to Cozumel, me and my wife were in port and my daughter on the ship. My daughter couldn't get enough and we really felt comfortable with AO.
My advice is see how it goes first but I'd have no problem leaving my daughter onboard again.

I know this thread is old and you've already taken your cruise. I just wanted to comment that I'm surprised so many travel so far to cruise (NY to Galveston, wow! ) I wish I could help with the question. We are in Austin so we are only about 4 hours from Galveston which makes cruising pretty convenient! We use Lighthouse Parking if that helps. Also, there's a website that might be helpful: www.galvestoncruises.com. I know there are several hotels that will let you park while you cruise, but I can't offer an opinion since I haven't used them. I've only cruised with Carnival so far and I'd guess 95% of the people are Texans, so that's why I'm so surprised to see some of you coming from so far away.

Good catch with that. There could be a noise issue with "noise bleed". I cant say for certain there will be but if there was another cabin available without a major venue like MDR above/below you, might make sense to change

To be clear Adventure DID get upgrades. In fact, every ship (except for Majesty) will or has gotten upgrades.
What each ship gets depends on different factors, look no further than the Vision class for examples of which ships got what.
