It's worth it but as Marc noted, the bag is small. About the size of an average plastic shopping bag you would get from the grocery store.

Right now, the cruise director is Jerome Sueur, but I don't know how long he's going to be on.
Why do you say that?

Welcome Rich!
7 to 9-night cruises include two formal nights, one smart casual night and four to six casual nights.

The cost for the wash-and-fold bag on Allure of the Seas last week was $30. Thanks to being Diamond, I had a $10-off coupon which brought it down to $20.
Oh is the discount bigger depending on your C&A level?

We are not that brilliant with computers, could you give us a quick lesson on how to include a photo in our reply.
Cheers
Ian and Margot
With these message boards, it helps to upload the photos first to a place like imageshack.com and then paste the URL in by clicking that little icon that looks like a tree in a photo:
If it's too confusing, just email them over to me and I can take care of it for you.

Hi
We will be one of the first to see all the new changes. We board on Wednesday for Transatlantic.
I think its time to buy some internet and keep you all updated.
Wish us luck :)
That would be great! Feel free to post the photos here or email them to [email protected] :D

Hello Quantum Fans,
I visited the Quantum at the Columbus Cruise Center in Bremerhaven, Germany this Wednesday and filmed a video :)
Maybe you are interested. ;)

I suspect the shops that are replaced are gone. Cupcake Cupboard might be rolled into Cafe Promenade, which is what they did on older ships during their renovations. Also Pets at Sea might end up in the general Royal Caribbean shop in the Promenade, like they did on older ships.

Hi, sorry to hijack this thread. My wife and I are traveling on the Allure in November. Can any one tell me if there is a formal dinning night? By this I mean where the gentleman has to wear a tuxedo and the lady a posh frock. It's our first time cruising. My wife thinks I should pack my suite but I'm not sure if it will be needed.
All advise is welcome
Kevin
A very nervous first time cruiser
There are 2 formal nights. Men can wear tuxedos but a majority will opt for suits or shirts with jackets. Don't feel obligated to go for a tux, although you are welcome to.

Nope, no autographs

I sit in the middle, for some cruises I see the value and for others I don't. Big drivers for me are the # of port days and who I am travelling with.
I agree. If your cruise is port intensive, the package makes less sense. But if you're on a cruise with friends who like to drink too and there are more sea days than port days, it can be worth it.
Like monctonguy said, to each their own. I've strongly considered the drink packages but always passed in favor of paying a la carte because I don't think I would naturally drink that much to make it worth it for me.

Thanks, Matt. Just learned last night that a coworker will be onboard the Quantum during the group cruise. I pointed her to the site.
Awesome! Thanks for the plug and hope she connects with us

It seems to be the fault of the booking system since it had to be redone as a new reservation. It seems to me that it would have made more sense just to override the price. The price reduction, though, was worth the hassle. Unfortunately, my TA had to work extra hard for it and spent a lot of time on the phone with Royal to get it done.
Glad it worked out. And there is why I love using TAs....let them do the work!
-
Glad to have you here too Kris!
-
When you rebook you can lose any discounts or sales you previously booked into but losing your excursions and drink packages seems excessive (or a fault in the booking system logic).

Thanks Matt,
I can't remember the category but we have a couch could try the cushions and I now understand it has a pullman bed. However I believe as my daughter is under two it would't be very safe and I think they have a weight limit so wouldn't be suitable for an adult.
Thanks again for you help
Mike
I agree, a two year old wouldn't be great with a pullman bed but we've done the couch idea with my daughter a few different times. Don't be afraid to ask your stateroom attendant for help too.

This blog post should be quite helpful: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/08/08/should-you-buy-the-unlimited-alcohol-packages
Essentially, beers cost about $5-6 each, mixed drinks are somewhere between $7-12 each, soda: $1.95, juices: $3.95
DRINK PACKAGES QUESTION - New to forums
in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Posted
Welcome to the forums!
You are correct that not everyone in the stateroom has to have the drink package anymore. It was the original rule but Royal Caribbean changed the rule so now one adult can get an unlimited alcohol package and any other adults can abstain from purchasing one.
As for sharing drinks, it's against the rules. If you're caught, you could potentially lose your package privileges and of course there's the moral conundrum of essentially stealing drinks.
