  1. Ha! I was trying to keep it subtle. Sorry for letting my nerd show!

  3. Great story of the kind of guest service we've come to expect and enjoy about cruising with RC!
  4. I am so glad that it's not just me that feels this way!
  5. Yes, you can still purchase internet packages smaller than the entire cruise but it's been greatly simplified. The only other option I have seen outside of the unlimited packages is 24 hour access.
  6. Book it!

  8. There is still the cafe but I would recommend bringing your own devices because those computers are too old for my taste, so from a performance standpoint, you are better served with your own laptop or iPad or phone. WiFi is all over the ship, so you can connect from almost everywhere.
  9. I definitely get extra excited if I book a cruise right after a refurbishment. Did that with Navigator of the Seas and my wife could not understand why I thought it was so cool when I tried explaining the significance of it to her
  10. Labadee you will be all set. That is Royal Caribbean's private island and it's made for lounging. Falmouth: Hilton Rose Hall for a great all inclusive resort experience. Pool, ocean, aqua park and great food and drink: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2011/09/15/excursion-focus-hilton-rose-hall-resort-spa-day-pass Nassau: Junkanoo Beach is always a good spot for simple beach with good drinks: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/01/29/excursion-focus-junkanoo-beach St Thomas: Magens Bay is where everyone goes. We went to Emerald Beach last time. It was quite beautiful and calm and much less crowded. No fee to get in either! http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/07/29/freedom-of-the-seas-live-blog-day-four-st-thomas St Maarten: Orient Beach!
  11. Sorrento's is dangerous for a late night snack. Can't get enough!
  12. I think those beach loungers are definitely a great value. It seems like everyone that gets one, raves about them! There is a path that you can definitely run on the island. There's a dirt road that leads from the interior of the main beach area down to the opposite end of the island (look for signs for the nature walk). It's maybe a mile, so you will have to do some laps but it's your best bet. If you have your own equipment, you can go out on your own. Obviously an excursion may take you out further but you absolutely can bring your own snorkel and jump in the water. Must do's on CocoCay: Try Barefoot Beach for the least crowded experience and definitely have one (or many) Cocolocos!
  13. Nicely done! I think you will have a great time and you will be among the first people to see the changes onboard!
  14. Great point, Marc
  15. I really do my best to be fair in any comparison but sometimes I can't help but lean in the RC direction!
  16. Great report, thank you for sharing! I did not notice any of the things you mentioned except for an odd smell near Adventure Ocean. At the time, they were working on repairing the fire damage (or at least I suspect that was what they were doing) and chalked it up to that.
  17. Same experience here. When I first heard about it, I thought there was skill involved but in reality it's just the "fastest wrist competition".
  18. I always prefer traditional dining over MTD because I'm a traditionalist and I like having the same wait staff and tablemates every evening.
  19. The only way you could see different pricing is if RC drops the price because, as others have noted, the price is the same everywhere.
  20. So Liberty is cheaper, longer and just got a refurbishment. What's the debate exactly? :D Also Liberty of the Seas has Saturday Night Fever, the Broadway show.
  21. I agree. I don't understand why they do not have it. On the one Norwegian cruise I've been on, there was a bar with popcorn and you could go pick some up whenever.
  22. The sandwiches in Cafe Promenade are ADDICTIVE! It sounds like you took advantage of a lot of the activities onboard. Thanks for sharing!
  23. That's awesome Marc! I think you'll have a great time and I would love to hear about each of these firsts when you get back. A tip for the slot tournament, watch some YouTube videos of previous slot tournaments on Royal Caribbean. I watched one on Quantum of the Seas and the key to win is mashing the buttons and hitting the balloons as fast as possible.
