Port Canaveral flights/hotels

I am getting ready to book my airfare for my cruise in December.  It is out of Port Canaveral.  What is the best way to get to the airport (and should I use Melbourne, Florida or Orlando) and what are different hotel and transportation options from airport to hotel to cruiseship?  Any advise would be welcome

Orlando is going to be the best airport.  It's about 45 minutes from Port Canaveral and it will have the most flight options and rental car options.

 

Daytona Beach and Melbourne have airports but I doubt you will find flights there.

I agree with Matt; Orlando (MCO) is your best option, especially if you're going to be using cruise transfers.  Tampa is also an option if you're going to rent a car, but it would only make sense if the airfare was exceptionally lower.

It provides shuttle from airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port and then back to the airport from the cruise ship.....usually some great value in the package deals!!
