RCIfan1912
Its become kinda are thing to have lunch not in every port but a lot of ports we stop in. We don't sail to October but still fun to look at what restaurants are suggested. Halifax Novia Scotia. We planned to eat at just because its right there when you walk out of the terminal Tomavino's. Now that isn't exactly local food in particular. Any other suggestions of course would be great? Now for Saint John we have Grannan's seafood in our sights. Again suggestions would be great there too.
AshleyDillo
Halifax is extremely walkable right out of the port area. I would suggest walking around until you see something interesting. If you're looking for "local" maybe check out Smokes for poutine. Also check if the BeaverTails is open at the waterfront..I think their summer season ends October so you may be in luck. It's effectively Canada's answer to the funnel cake. ScottD
Fatman127
I was in Halifax last September on Liberty. We ate at Durty Nelly’s Irish Pub which is maybe a 10 minute walk from the port but it was some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. And paired with a draught Guinness it was very enjoyable. RCIfan1912

RCIfan1912
Oh yes, we walk there everytime we go to Saint John. Take a left when you walk out of the port area and walk up till you see a mall like place called Market square. It's right there to the left shortly after you walk in. Local pizza and the city specialty of donair (skyscanner.ca/tips-and-inspiration/halifax-donair). Good quality and reasonable prices. Le French Fixe Patisserie. Local coffee and bake shop. Decent espresso and canelé. Fantastic smells. Limited hours. RCIfan1912
