Cruising Granny
Sailing on Grandeur out of Miami, terminal G, Feb 25. Will be driving down and staying with a friend about 1 1/2 hours from the port. Usually sail out of PC, new to Miami. Suggestions on what you would do. Thoughts on what is easier. TIA
Villageidiot
If a lot of ships are in port traffic can be really bad. Might be easier to let someone else drive you to the ship. Parking runs $22 per day if I remember correctly. RCIfan1912
AshleyDillo
While it is super convenient to drive and park at the port, being so close gives you more options. The easiest is to drive yourself and the next easiest would be to have someone else drive you. Depending on where you are within that 1.5 hour radius will determine how available an Uber or Lyft may be. Other more complicated options depending on where you are are to take TriRail or Brightline down. But then you would have to get to/from the train stations to the port using rideshare which is the complicated part.
Carpe Diem
Another option is to park at an "off-site" parking lot near the pier. Most off-site parking lots are within 1-2 miles from the pier and many of them offer a free shuttle from the parking lot to the pier on embarkation day and then a free shuttle from the pier back to the parking lot at the end of the cruise. Prices vary depending on the lot you select but they generally range anywhere from $6 - $20 per day. This is a relatively inexpensive and convenient option. You can Google "off site parking near port of Miami" to find a lot of parking lot options.
