Does RC Offer Royal Up on Casino Comp Cruises?

I was comped an interior room by the casino and this is my first time using a casino comp. I paid extra to upgrade to an ocean view room and I'm content with the room but I usually cruise at least a balcony and now I'm kicking myself for not paying the extra-extra to just get the balcony room. Anyway, I usually get an email for Royal Up and even when I don't I can log in and put my last name and reservation number in and it shows me the bids. This time I haven't gotten an email and when I try entering my info it says "make sure you're within 30 days" blah blah blah. I've done mock bookings and there are still plenty of rooms available on this cruise.

Do the comped rooms not have the option to Royal Up? I've looked through the search on here and can't seem to find anything on this. Thanks for any info you can give me.

The short answer is yes. We are on a comped cruise later this month on Independence and we received an email to Royal Up about 45 days from when our cruise is to take place. We didn't bid as we upgraded our comped cruise to a junior suite.

Casino comps are eligible for RoyalUp.  Whether or not your particular booking will be offered a RU is something else.  Not every booking is offered RU but if you are not, it has nothing to do with it being a casino comp.

I've done Royal Up's on a few comped cruises and won.  If I do Royal Up, I usually just bid the minimum.  If I really want the upgrade, I just work it out with the casino desk get it from the start.
