Casino Royale Comped Cruise Questions

Recommended Posts

Questions regarding a comped cruise through the casino royale players program.

I've always booked through a travel agency or directly with royal caribbean but for the first time I booked through casino royale for a comped cruise.

The process was fairly easy, the agent asked me for the code provided on the e-mail and my C&A # to confirm my comp cruise. This is for Icon OTS in early March 2024 ocean view balcony room 7-nights western caribbean.

Shortly after agent had me pay port/tax fees to lock in the booking the information was already showing on the royal caribbean app and website with my booking reservation #.

Everything sounded too good to be true so I wanted to confirm, since they e-mailed a PDF statement of what it would have costed and it was well over $10,000usd for 2 people. All I had to cover was port/tax fees, prepaid gratuities and flight cost to from LAX to MIA.

Questions:

  • Am I allowed to change my sailing date after it was booked?
  • Am I allowed to upgrade my cabin and pay the difference?
  • Are there any limitations or difference compared to booking directly with royal caribbean or travel agency?
  • If there are problems would I have to go through casino royale instead of royal caribbean?
  • Has anyone else successfully/consistently booked through casino royale?

If anyone has any additional input to add to this topic it would be much appreciated!

Answers to questions

1) you can change the sailing date as long as the certificate you're using to book that comp hasn't expired

2)Yes you're allowed to upgrade cabins and pay the difference

3)I don't recall any limitations, I've booked 15 cruises with casino Royale and twice regularly with Royal. Seemed similar

4) yes if you booked through Casino Royale you have to call them if you have any problems or need to make any changes

5)I've  booked my last 15 RCL cruises with Casino Royale

Booking through Air2Sea is a refundable ticket before final payment.

My issue with calling Air2Sea isn't the accents, but the fact the call quality is usually so bad you have to navigate through static to focus on the accents.

Everything JZX had said is the case.

additionally, if you ever get an answer from the phone rep that you don’t agree with (think is incorrect) end the call and call back. Typically the next agent might understand and/or gave correct info.  Worst case ask for a supervisor.

ex of incorrect info:  wrong pricing for an upgrade. Being told there are no cabins available.  Incorrectly charging on a comp. and more

Mostly everything is covered but I want to add on to your first question. If this was booked with a "won onboard" certificate it is only valid for the date you chose. You will not be able to change the dates to any Icon sailings, only what is offered on the certificate and if you do, you will get the money off and not the room (i.e., interior, OV, etc.).

I now consistently book through Club Royale. Sometimes they aren't as knowledgeable, but you can call back and get the right answer.
