Wine as a souvenir

We are taking a cruise from Southampton to the Canaries.

As a souvenir we would like to buy a bottle of wine in each port and bring it home with us. We don't want to open them on the ship.

What is the allowance for this? And how does it work? If we turn them in somewhere, is that safe or do a lot get lost?

Will we pay taxes on them upon arriving back to Southampton?

We are from mainland Europe.

I don't think there is a limit on how many souvenir bottles you can bring on board - just what you can reasonably carry. Though there may be a n immigration thing if the value is over a certain amount but I will hazard a guess that you're not going to spend thousands on a single bottle.

When you get back on at each port, you'll turn the bottles over to a little table and they'll package it up with your room number on it to be delivered to your stateroom around dinner time on the last night.
