ISO dining reports from Junior Suite guests on Symphony

Anyone recently sail on Symphony in a junior suite and attempt to have dinner at Coastal Kitchen?  If so, I would be interested in hearing about your experience: whether you were able to get a reservation for your party, was there any pattern to availability, how the food compared to MDR, etc.   We would love to try it one night for something different -  knowing it isn't guaranteed, but crossing my fingers we can get in.

in the past we've found success being flexible with times, depending on the number of pinnacles and suite guests who are sailing and also want to take advantage of CK/or are not out and about at other specialty dining venues.

in our case, it helps that we are only a party of 2 and would prefer to eat around 5:30 (which is, admittedly, a little early for us) as a compromise so that we could be in CK rather than our 6:30-7pm MDR dining time.

best recommendation is go to go there when you board and ask if there may be any room for you as as a sea class (junior suite) guest. on some sailings, we were able to lock in a time for the week but on others, we kind of had to hedge our bets and see if they could accommodate us each night. in that instance, we kept our MDR reservation just in case and would call down to have them release the table if we could dine in coastal kitchen that night.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I think we can be flexible on time, but I bet we'll run into challenges if everyone in our party wants to go.  We have two cabins, each with 3 people (3 Adults and 3 teens).  Do you go up to the restaurant/suite lounge to inquire (not sure what the setup is like on Symphony, but assuming we won't be able to access the suite lounge with our sea pass)?

Go on boarding day when the door should be open as no one has their SeaPass cards yet. They will make reservations for you and ask them for the number to call to make reservations later in the week.  Coastal Kitchen is on one side and the Suite Lounge is on the other, so CK will have their own doors you can knock on when you show up for dinner.
