RickW
On our upcoming first cruise, I understand that there might be an opportunity to toast the captain with free champagne. When and where does this party take place or how does one find out about it?
BennyandBo
I'll give this a bump up. Years ago it use to be a captain's cocktail party/hour on formal night before dinner. Free champagne (and other drinks if you ask the right person). Is this still a thing?
Pattycruise
On cruises 7 nights or longer there is a "cheers with an officer" lunch for D+ (over 340 points) and Pinnacle. (this has been my recent experience) I just got off a 5 night sailing and they had the Top Tier event, but no cheers with an officer. There is also a Top Tier Event-which typically has champagne, mimosas and fruit punch. Depending on the ship it might have a restriction on attendance (due to size of venue). If there is a restriction it would go to the higher C&A loyalty tiers. These events are typically on seperate sea days with the cheers with an officer lunch held towards the end of the cruise. Of course this can vary by ship. The Top TIer event has been in the beginning of the week, usually during the late morning 10:30 or 11:00. Again, this can vary by ship. Invites to either would be in your cabin on Day 1-you can always ask the C&A Loyalty Ambassador for info when you board.
twangster
I haven't yet seen the return of the Captain's address in the promenade or esplanade on formal nights. Another something lost to the pandemic. Likely a cost saving measure. WAAAYTOOO
