bradandmorgansdad
Has anyone used RC Trip insurance? Was they difficult to deal with? Has anyone used a 3rd party travel insurance policy? Any recommendations? Mike

not easy being green
We have always used RC Travel Insurance (AON) and we have only used it one time we have gone on a ton of cruises, the refund was very prompt - we had to supply the reason/s and in our case hospital notes/bills and also from the doctors. We did not file right away (about 5 years ago, we filed about 6 months afterwards) due to the circumstances and we still received the refund. RC worked with us to refund, all packages, Wi-Fi and tours we were not happy with the situation, but the refund part was very straight forward. We will not travel without some kind of insurance - yes it has costs, but if you ever need it, seems to work. Hopefully you will NEVER need to use it ~ forgot to say that Edited October 11, 2022 by not easy being green missing a line
ChessE4
Allianz is another one option. Bags can be a problem when it comes to proving value. Don't put all gifts in one bag, take photos, save receipts for clothes and other items. Some travel cards carry some insurance for purchases made. You can compare carriers online. We've been paid within a few weeks.
drjohn4
Travel Insured has very good rates for families. We have had claims with them twice. One was prompt and easy. The other took several months but it was for a cancellation at the beginning of covid and was a 5-figure payout to us, so I understood why it might take a while. I still use and recommend them. DebsGlass
We buy the RC Aon travel insurance. And had to file a claim from March of this year. I am still haggling with them. They claim due to all the claims with covid. But since I used the ship medical facility in the Virgin Islands, I had issues with my BCBS in how to file. We went several rounds. I did not get them to act until I filed a claim with the state commission on insurance companies. After they paid, I sent documentation to Aon. Called Aon yesterday and they are still working on it. For medical issues you have to file your own insurance first and they pick up the co-pays/non-covered things.
