L454S
Got back this past Sunday on Navigator OTS in Miami, We were standing in that line at baggage claim for customs. We had gotten GE a couple months ago, but had never used it. didn't notice any GE signs at Miami terminal. We heard a voice calling for Global Entry people. We called back to this port agent, and he said follow me. He escorted us up the side of that LONG line to the front and told one of the ladies directing folks to the individual customs agents that we were GE. She pointed us to the first one and he looked at our cards and waived us through. I know it is available at Port Everglades(saw the sign), but this was a nice surprise. Also saw a sign at Galveston Port terminal, but was not manned. I hope more come on line.
arebee
Never heard of this, did some research. Not sure its worth it for me. We hardly have to wait in the customs line and don't travel outside the country otherwise. But I can see its benefit. Just not sure its worth the $100. Now maybe if it would get you through the lines in some of the ports.........................
Guest toodle68
Global Entry and therefore, Pre-TSA, can be worthwhile programs if you travel through busy domestic airports..
monorailmedic
This is great news. I'm a big fan of GE and PreCheck. It is interesting that they require the cards (I guess b/c we're not dealing with the kiosks like at GE in airports), as when I registered for GE they told both my wife and I that you really don't need the card. Luckily I threw them in my bag as we've needed to show them at PEFL and next month, at PortMiami. BTW, if you're following along in the credit card thread and you're interested in signing up for Global Entry (which includes PreCheck), remember that there are several cards out there (Chase Sapphire Reserve, AmEx Platinum, and others) that will reimburse you the cost of registration. Not enough alone to justify those cards, but a nice perk.
