Michael A
Just a General question about boarding day.... As previously stated my husband and I are planning a "Group Wedding Cruise" despite the fact that we are already married. As we are C&A Members I know that they board by C&A Status. We are also staying in a Grand Suite so will be considered "Suite Class". My question is this... At the pier is there a RCCL Group Representative that will meet my group and board us all together or will it be the general cattle call of boarding. Additionally is there a RCCL Group Rep on board that can arrange thing for my group or do I have to take charge of that?
WAAAYTOOO
Are you booked as an official group through Royal or with a TA ?

FloatMe
Unless you are actually having a ceremony on the day of departure, I would not think you would have an escort to accompany your group on to the ship. We were actually married on board (not on disembark day) and had a small group (15) and we were not provided a way to board as a group. That said, on a previous cruise, my parents were suite guests and my wife and I were permitted to board with them in the priority line even though we were not suite guests

As for the "group planner" Again unless you have paid for a wedding coordinator or have some other contract with RCCL, you will not have access to a group activity planner. However, as a suite guest, you can utilize the consierge to help you plan things like parties/hors d'oeuvres/drinks in your suite or other unbooked areas on the ship. The consierge can also help get people in you group on the same excursion (sometimes) if one shows as sold out. They can be very helful. We did tip our consierge appropriately. Todd
I believe it also depends upon the port. We did a boarding in Hong Kong last Summer at the smaller Star Cruises terminal. It was by far the worst boarding I have ever seen. No one got anything, open cattle call pushing and rushing the line. Several passengers hurt and I was told one taken to the hospital. I do not believe anything like this could happen in a US port but some ports are much better than others.
dramyk
Our genie met us and did help us board. You should expect that for star class. He even helped get our bags through so they went straight to our room.

However you are not correct... I just got off the phone with my TA and the RCCL Group Devision. There IS a Group point of contact on board who can coriddinate dinners, activities and shore excursions. As it gets closer to sailing they will forward that peosons contact information to me.
