Ideas for Costa Maya

Hi all! We set sail in 29 days on Adventure of the Seas! We have an excursion booked through RC for Grand Cayman, and we are going to Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. Does anyone have any relaxing excursion options or things to do in Costa Maya for a party of two? Or is that a port that can be fun just walking around?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

We were just there a few weeks ago. We stayed in the port and had a lot of fun. We went over the aviary and saw the tropical birds. You take suspension bridges over the port area to the different bird exhibits and can feed them. The bridges take you over the dolphins area, and you can watch from above. We then hung by the little sand/beach pool area and the kids played in the pool and we played pool volleyball. You can use their loungers with the purchase of 1 big cocktail or 3 beers. We had a short day there, Enchantment doesn't get in until 12-1pm or so, and leave by 5-6, so we felt we didn't really have enough time to go much further. If we didn't have the kids with us, we probably would have ventured out of the port, but the kids complicate the logistics.

You can take the tram to the local village and try out one of the restaurants.  It's just $6 or $7 one way, I believe.  A cab will bring you back.  It is relaxing to stroll by the vendors.

In September we tried the raft trip at Lake Bacalar, but it was a little too tame for us.  We needed our bug spray.  There were a few interesting sights, plus lunch and an opportunity to swim.  But about that time we were hearing a lot about amoebas and other parasites in warm water, so we mostly just hung out at the mini-beach.  I wouldn't really recommend it.  Our best excursion experience was Chacchoben (Mayan Ruins), but do take bug spray for that.
