JG1209
I am doing the GUMBALIMBA PARK AND CANOPY ZIP LINE excursion in March. Any clue if you can see or interact with sloths here? My 6 yr old loves them and thought it would be neat to get a pic for her since she isn’t on the cruise with me. thanks!
SpeedNoodles
Here are the reviews from Trip Advisor. They do appear to have sloths. I did a cursory look through the photos (although I didn't look at all 1,000+ of them) and didn't see anyone holding any sloths. Macaws and Capuchin Monkeys, yes, but no sloths. As a retired zoo keeper, working with exotics for nearly 20 years, I don't really think this is a bad thing, though. Not all animals are suited to being passed around all day by humans - it can be very stressful for them (I know, a lot of places do it - doesn't mean it's a great idea). It looks like a fun place - I'm kind of jealous! I might have to take a look at this place for when I visit Roatan (minus the zip line). https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g292019-d649528-Reviews-Gumbalimba_Park-Roatan_Bay_Islands.html JG1209
KJones
I did this excursion in September. We were not able to hold the sloths, but did see a couple hiding out in the trees (pointed out by the guide). There are specific areas to interact with the macaws and monkeys.
