Show Reservations - how soon do they book out?

With my cruise 55 days away, I am unable to reserve a place to see Starwater in the 270degrees theatre via the app. It is playing on about 8 different timeslots, however the app prompted me to call RCI direct, to make a booking. After doing so, I was advised that the show is booked out entirely.

This surprises me, given the cruise is still 8 weeks away. Is this common?  I sense I may not have been given accurate information by the lovely call centre worker, but thought I would check on the blog to see how quickly shows tend to book out. Thanks team!

They can book really quickly when they are released on the Cruise Planner (Pixels was sold out within 24 hours for my Ovation sailing) I really don't believe it's the only opportunity to book them though - I think they hold back a certain amount for booking on the ship (plus there's likely stand by lines for no shows).
