Is Jamie's Lunch ever discounted on board?

I've done a search about Jamie's Lunch pricing, seems it's the same everywhere at $24.99 per person (which is what I see in Cruise Planner). Frankly, that's more than I'm willing to pay right now. I've seen the recent menu photos and I'm dubious about it really being worth that price.

I've looked around and haven't found anything indicating if the crew ever offers specials for lunch there. I'm guessing if they did it would be on a port day when everyone's off the ship, but that's assuming the place was open on those days. Has anyone been approached by crew offering specials to Jamie's for lunch? I'd like to try them with all the positive feedback I've read about them, just not at the price they're asking for lunch.

A separate but related question -- They're seriously asking more than Chops ($25 vs $20)? Those of you who have had lunch at both, do you feel it's truly better than Chops lunch and that a premium over Chops is justified? I'm just wondering how much of this price is because of the name attached to the venue, and how much is really because of what you get. Find it hard to believe that a steakhouse is outdone by a... less than authentic Itialian place. I haven't forgotten @WAAAYTOOO's assessment that Giovanni's was far better than Jamie's; and that the predecessor to Giovanni's was better still!

Sincerely,

A guy who's been spoiled by all the great-yet-relatively-inexpensive Italian restaurants and trattorias that I have in easy driving distance. And his mom's Italian cooking.
