Reservations

There doesn't really seem to be any "normal" for these things.  Typically, dining will open up anywhere from 60 - 90 days out, but I have had dining reservations open up 6 months or more ahead on some ships.  I have no idea how they determine such things....but by 45 days, at the OUTside, you should be able to book your specialty restaurants and/or MTD reservations.

Basically, same thing for entertainment [shows].  You just have to keep checking to see if the reservations tool is "open".  It's pretty unscientific.  Just keep checking.

...and you're right...normally, those reservations DON'T open up prior to 90 days before the cruise but sometimes, they will.
