Shelly
We are cruising on July 29, 2016. When will I be able to reserve specialty restaurants and shows?
WAAAYTOOO
Depends on the ship as to whether you can book the entertainment venues or not. You can ALWAYS book dining beforehand (all ships). Only the Oasis and Quantum class ships offer reserved shows.
Shelly
Oh sorry we are going on the Oasis of the Seas. I thought I read you can't book for up to 3 months before the cruise. But I want to be ready so we have our choices of times and shows we want to see before hand.
WAAAYTOOO
There doesn't really seem to be any "normal" for these things. Typically, dining will open up anywhere from 60 - 90 days out, but I have had dining reservations open up 6 months or more ahead on some ships. I have no idea how they determine such things....but by 45 days, at the OUTside, you should be able to book your specialty restaurants and/or MTD reservations. Basically, same thing for entertainment [shows]. You just have to keep checking to see if the reservations tool is "open". It's pretty unscientific. Just keep checking. ...and you're right...normally, those reservations DON'T open up prior to 90 days before the cruise but sometimes, they will. DocLC
Not that most ships do not allow you, nor is there a need to, reserve shows in advance, although this is unclear in the cruise planner. You can do it on Oasis class vessels and perhaps Quantum class.
