  1. Good Morning! Does anyone know if infants still in swim diapers are allowed in the oasis pool on CocoCay? Or do the same rules apply as on the ship? No pools until out of diapers? just a curious mom trying to plan with two infants 🙂 thank you!
  2. Hi folks, Looking for advice on a pre-cruise hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a May 2018 sailing on Harmony. Any input on quality of rooms, restaurants, pool, beach access, shuttle service to port, etc. would be helpful. Thanks
  3. Anyone going on Oasis, I have both a tip and a request for you... Last week I was on an incredible cruise, on which I was exposed to an awesomely tasty (and somewhat myserious) drink, known as..."The Lindell Special" It was one of those "don't ask what's in it, just drink it" - it's HEAVENLY. It looks similar to a Rum Runner, but it isn't. You can get one by finding a server on the pool deck named Lindell Christie (from Jamaica) - he seems to be the only one who can make this drink, and you need to find him and order one, and experience it in all its goodness. There's my tip... my question/favor is this: Can you please talk to him, and find out what's in it? I asked him once, but after having a few in me already I didn't remember (or write down) what he said it was. He had no problem talking about what was in the drink, but I wasn't smart (or sober) enough to make note of it. All I remember was rum, banana, mango, and either blueberry or strawberry, I'm just not sure. So... your mission, should you choose to accept it... is to find Lindell Christie on the Pool Deck of the Oasis, get a Lindell Special (or 2, 3, or 10), and find out what's in it and report back! Enjoy!
  4. Hello. We are cruising out the port of Miami in April, and will be flying into Miami International Airport the night before our Cruise leaves. Where is a good place to stay overnight before cruising out the next afternoon? Are there any affordable places that still offer "free port shuttle?" We are Best Western Members, and usually use them, but before we book anything, I thought I might ask the pros on this Forum who cruise a lot more often than we do. :-) Doesn't need to be a fancy place since we're arriving at Midnight. Just want FREE shuttle to the Port, or affordable shuttle as well. Thanks Everybody~
  5. With the recent news of a child nearly drowning on Independence of the Seas (nearly drowned, contrary to article's title), do you think that Royal Caribbean needs to staff lifeguards poolside? According to a recent CC article, Disney Cruise Lines is the only major line to staff lifeguards. As a certified lifeguard myself, as well as Lifeguard Instructor: American Red Cross, Basic Life Support Instructor: American Heart Assocation, and a Certified Community Emergency Responder, I have my own opinion. Legally speaking, SOME states have passed laws that state ALL businesses operating swimming pools must provide a lifeguard during operating hours. Other states say that "Swim at your own Risk" signs are sufficient. Regardless, I think the only thing that the family COULD argue if they wanted to come after RCI is the notion of a "gate" of sorts--basically means to keep young children from inadvertently venturing into a swimming pool. Beyond that, I am of the opinion that staffing swimming pools with lifeguards would a) change the ambiance of the pool deck, even if they didn't enforce any rules, and were just there as a precaution, and b) provide parents with an even larger false sense of security, potentially leading to more emergencies. What are YOUR thoughts?
