  1. Hello everyone! I'm going on the Independence of the Seas in August. This will be my first cruise and I am super excited. I've been going back and forth on what excursions to do in Cozumel, and I could use some advice. What are the recommended excursions for newbie like myself? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated?
  2. Hi! I am looking for an adventurous cenote excursion. I'm leaning toward Amazing Secret River and Playa Del Carmen. Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? Thanks! Attached are others on my shortlist.
  3. Going on a cruise in March on Wonder of the Seas and looking for an experience with stingrays! Last cruise I did, Norwegian had a “stingray city” option through the cruise line but don’t see any similar/explicit options for this on my itinerary through Royal. Anyone have any recommendations on RC offered excursions that allow up close and personal encounters like some of their snorkeling options? if not, anyone have any recommendations for options near the port I can coordinate on my own? Group of 5 adults (no kids). Would love to just pet/swim/feed/take pictures with them if possible!
  4. Hi, I'm taking RC cruise to phuket this September. I'm interesting in doing the Phi Phi island tour. Anybody did this already? Just want to know it its good and worthed it since it's kind a expensive. I would love some review before I booked it. Thank you Atsha
  5. Curious on the 'Beach Break with Open Bar' at Beach Escape Club listed on the website in excursions, what is it like? It states that it's open bar, does that mean all-inclusive? (the fine print says food is a fee so I'm wondering if the drinks are not included either) If anyone has details on this one, please let us know!
  6. Hey everyone! I am hoping to propose to my girlfriend this December during our cruise vacation. I was really hoping to do it at the Ocean Club Versailles Gardens near Nassau but after doing some research I found out they're pretty intense about the security and prevention passerbys from stopping in to see the gardens. I emailed the hotel they want $3,500 to come in propose!! Does anyone know of any sort of walking tour or excursion that may go there? Looking for some loopholes to make it happen. I have a solid 6 months to make something work so any tips would be greatly appreciated
  7. Hi! My husband and I booked our excursions through RCCL for our upcoming cruise in June on AOS. I've tried to contact RCCL for what amenities they have for things like our phones, go pro, sea pass cards, etc when we do things like snorkeling in Cozumel. They've not responded and I'm not appreciative of how much in the dark they seem to leave you about a lot of things. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Hey everyone, Just got off Oasis from the May 8th-May 15th sailing and We made a couple videos so far, still working on content. We have a trip preview on there, and a Shore Excursion review for the Nassau Sail and Reef Snorkel excursion
  9. My SO and I have these excursions booked for our cruise coming up in September. Just wanted any feed back for this cruise itinerary, ship (odyssey), and these excursions if anyone has any experience with them! Were also doing Athens but were going to do that outside of Royal as they didnt really have many good options and the one they did have got booked up super early. Thank you for any help!
  10. Hi all, I had a question regarding an excursion I am hoping to book on my cruise that is coming up in a couple weeks on the Navigator. My bf and I are stopping in Cabo for one of our ports, and I saw an 4x4 adventure excursion which would be something we are both very interested in. The concern I have though is the me an my bf are only a group of two and the cover picture for the excursion show a four person Polaris vehicle. We are not very interested in going with another group lol. Nowhere does the post say it will be in groups of four, but it also does not say we will be in groups of two. I'll attach photos of the excursion posting and maybe someone can help me out! Thanks!
  11. Tell me your stories: If you spent a day doing a tour or excursion or you were walking around on your own and for whatever reason you missed the departure time for the cruise or very very late to the boat, what were the circumstances surrounding that?
  12. I’m going to start by saying that I have excursion anxiety after a member of our travel party made us nearly miss the ship years ago. So many times I book through the ship because this circumstance really shook me up. However as we are sailing to Alaska this year I’m feeling like if there is anywhere to trust a 3rd party it’s Alaska. No language barriers, easy to contact them etc. Would you agree with this? I’m ready to book outside RC and my husband is still worried. also if anyone has amazing suggestions for Juneau or Skagway I’m all ears! 2 adults and our 7 year old.
  13. We just heard yesterday that our 9 hr Discover Cape Cod Excursion was canceled for the September 1 sailing. No explanations given, our planner had no idea, shorex@ hasn't gotten back, customer service didn't have information, DMed on Twitter but no reply, doesn't seem like they're replacing it with anything but who knows. We've never had this happen with other cruise lines, I've checked with friends and ditto, any information or suggestions welcome.
  14. Hi everyone. I’m going on my first cruise on October 28th with my sister and her family. Boarding the Navigator of the Seas from Los Angeles to Ensenada (and back). I was thinking about booking the Rosarito Beach Break: Tacos & Margaritas excursion for my family. However the website states the minimum age is 12. My sister has two kids (will be 1 and 11 years old at the time we set sail). When I try to reserve online, it says the kids are ineligible due to age. Are kids under 12 allowed to go with their parents to this excursion? If they’re allowed to, do I have to pay for them as well or would they be considered “free of charge”? If I have to pay for them, how would I do that since the website won’t even let me reserve that excursion for the kids??? If anyone can please clarify how this will work for people with children, that would be great! Also, which hotel/resort beach club are they dropping us off at? I’m curious and would like to research the resort to see if it’s worth doing this. Thanks!
  15. Ok, stay with me on this and I promise it will make sense like many, we have a ton of onboard credit to use, so we are looking at some excursions. I like to snorkel, but the wife does not. I’m at the point where I really need to do an excursion to get to the good snorkeling areas and actually see some cool stuff. we are looking for excursions that would allow the wife to attend, but not snorkel. Whether it be her staying on the ship or if there is a beach at the location where she can chill out. since we are traveling alone she won’t have a built in hang out buddy and she would enjoy seeing the other sites and such involved in the process, but she doesn’t get in the water past her knees because (and I quote) “there’s fish in there” just looking for suggestions in case anyone has done this or knows more about how most excursions work. I’ve been looking at the Royal site and can’t figure out if there is one where she can just chill. Thanks! itinerary included for reference.
  16. Hey guys! I will be going on my first cruise in October on Navigator of the Seas. We will be stopping in Nassau and I was looking at the shore excursions on the cruise planner site. I found a deluxe sailing excursion, it sounds great because my husband and I love sail boats and it sounds like a lot of fun. Have any of you ever done this excursion? If so, what do you think? Thanks, Nikki
  17. We will be cruising in November to Cozumel. Has anyone done the Coba pyramid & cenote swim excursion? I know it takes awhile to get there. Is it worth it time wise? We are only in port for 9 hours & this excursion is 8 hours. I’m estimating about 1/2 of the excursion is travel time. We have 4 children between 15-10.
  18. We will be cruising next May with our families on Harmony of the Seas. Our daughter will be the youngest at 2 and probably the only child with the rest as adults in their twenties or fifties. Our ports of call are Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan as well as Perfect Day CocoCay. Excluding CocoCay, which, if any, of those ports would be best to just walk off the ship and eat and shop or go to a beach without an excursion? We do have some in our party with mobility issues, so a short walk would be preferable or we could do a taxi ride. If there's nothing in those ports that fit the bill for that, what excursions would you recommend for us that our 2 year old would enjoy and be able to do? Thanks for your help!
  19. Hello All. RCCL, in all it's wonderful glory, has removed our scheduled shore excursions from the CP offerings. As has been a hot topic several times in the last few weeks, I suspect that the current CP sale possibly may have them at a lower cost but doesn't want me to cancel and rebook at the new lower price (although, I did purchase most of our excursion on the BF Sale, so they needn't worry, but I digress). So, I'm wondering if any of you Alaska cruisers could shoot me the price of these excursions, that is if you're seeing them in your CP: Fly-out Fly Fishing in Juneau, Icy Strait Point Stream Fishing in ISP, and Knudson Cove Salmon Fishing in Ketchikan. Many thanks! aisle=grocery isle=RCCL
  20. My wife and I are going on the Navigator OTS soon and we are doing an excursion, the Dolphin Push, Pull & Swim Experience in George Town, Grand Cayman. Has anyone done this excursion that has any tips, advice or experiences that they would like to share? It’s hard to find reviews and we just want to know what to be prepared for. All I know for sure is to not bring a camera. Is there a safe place to store your items while you are in the water? Thanks for any responses!
  21. Hello all. I was looking at "My Calendar" for our Alaska Southbound 2019 in the cruise planner and noticed that one of my excursions was moved ahead by one hour. I would think they would have sent an email to notify us. Not a deal breaker in the least, but it gives me pause about other notifications (I haven't received?). FOMO with a twist. . .
  22. We are sailing on the July 15th cruise. In Bahamas my wife and I are interested in an excursion through Tru Bahamian where you cook a three course meal with the chef at Graycliff. We have done their other walking tour and want to try this one. Issue is price is very high for just two people. If we get 6 more more very affordable for what they offer. Please DM is anyone is interested to join on Monday, June 16th.
  23. I was wondering how safe the belongings would be for the Philipsburg excursion. I'm a photographer and really want to take my camera with me for the tour part of this but how safe will it be during the beach part? I dont want anything to get stolen
  24. Here is a video review of Doctor's Cave Beach in Jamaica. Keep in mind that my cruise docked in Montego Bay so there will be no shuttle from Falmouth, but many people still go to Doctor's Cave Beach from Royal Caribbean's port as well. I have heard it is about a 30-45 minute drive from Falmouth, but if you contact a transportation service in Falmouth they can give you more accurate estimates of the duration and price. The beach was beautiful well worth the $9 it costs to get in. They serve food and have a full bar located in a large deck area behind the beach. There were plenty of tables to eat at and full waiter service. We had the jerk chicken for $10 and several Red Stripes that were $5 each. I've had better jerk chicken in Jamaica, but it was still very good. Is it just me, or does Red Stripe taste 10 times better on a beach in Jamaica? The beach had tons of soft white sand with a great view of some mountainous terrain in the distance. When we were there we had the option of staying off to the sides where it was more quiet or going into the middle of the beach where there were more people and a more upbeat atmosphere. We really enjoyed our day there and would definitely recommend it as a great beach day option in Jamaica. In our experience the beach day excursions in Jamaica tend to be a little bit expensive and we found this to be a great alternative.
  25. Team RCLBlog, Another noob question, but here it goes: How does Labadee work? Since it is owned by RCL is there places to go that is included (beaches, bars, restaurants, lawn chairs etc)? Should I pay for an excursion? Since we have the drink package, does it work on Labadee? If so, everywhere? Or are there certain bars/places that it works? Thanks for your help!
