  1. Besides the normal is there anything unique or different you can get on Icon with the Refreshment Package? I did love me a Johnny Rockets milkshake on other cruises. Curious if there is anything similar?
  2. Does anyone have a good list or picture of a list of champagne available on board?
  3. Hello! its my first time booking a cruise I have our room booked just wondering if there is typically black Friday/cyber Monday deals on drink packages or excursions?
  4. I'm interested at what people spent on their deluxe drink package. Cruise planner says 49pp per day but with a note saying its 50 % off the second person. I feel like it was the same without the " deal" so I'm interested what others paid. Note. I'm on the symphony of the seas 7 day eastern carribean
  5. We generally go on an RC cruise once, maybe twice a year. Have always purchased the drink package (alcohol) previously so never paid much attention to what buying drinks cost. We are going on the 5 night Cozumel/Costa Maya cruise on Majesty on June 25th. Since they have changed the rules on the drink pkg it is cost prohibitive for us to both have to buy into it as my wife doesn't drink. I'm not a liquor/mixed drink person, mainly beer but I do tend to enjoy a few since...well...we are on vacation. Not an excessive amount of course and we have our 6 year old daughter going with us so I obviously want to spend more time doing things with her and not worry about it....but I always enjoyed not having to worry about the end of cruise cost in years past when I could get the pkg on my own. Just curious what the costs are a piece as I'm sure they vary from different classes of ships. I have read where it may be possible to call RC and ask if she can get an exemption on her alcohol drink pkg and possibly replace it with a soda type package but even then the cost might not be worth it. Thanks.
  6. Anyone going on Oasis, I have both a tip and a request for you... Last week I was on an incredible cruise, on which I was exposed to an awesomely tasty (and somewhat myserious) drink, known as..."The Lindell Special" It was one of those "don't ask what's in it, just drink it" - it's HEAVENLY. It looks similar to a Rum Runner, but it isn't. You can get one by finding a server on the pool deck named Lindell Christie (from Jamaica) - he seems to be the only one who can make this drink, and you need to find him and order one, and experience it in all its goodness. There's my tip... my question/favor is this: Can you please talk to him, and find out what's in it? I asked him once, but after having a few in me already I didn't remember (or write down) what he said it was. He had no problem talking about what was in the drink, but I wasn't smart (or sober) enough to make note of it. All I remember was rum, banana, mango, and either blueberry or strawberry, I'm just not sure. So... your mission, should you choose to accept it... is to find Lindell Christie on the Pool Deck of the Oasis, get a Lindell Special (or 2, 3, or 10), and find out what's in it and report back! Enjoy!
  7. So my question is, what is actually free in regards to food or anything liquid you consume? Is the tap water on the ship revolting? Should I even purchase the Evian bottled water? What food is actually free? (I'm aware there are specialty dining that are at additional cost) Is the captains dinner, fancy dining room free? I am purchasing the soda package, will i be charged for orange juice or black coffee in the morning during room service or on the main cafe? Sorry to bombard with so many questions, i've only ever cruised on a Carnival ship 9 years ago... And it feels like Royal Caribbean wants to bleed me dry of my money when they already charge a hefty amount for the cruise itself. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi all! I think I've posted on here before, but I am back as we get closer to our cruise date (Feb 3rd). My wife and I are going on the Majesty of the Sea. We stop at Nassau on Saturday and Cocokay on Sunday. This is the first time we've ever been on a cruise so really no idea what to expect. I do have a few questions though.... With the drink packages I saw something that said that 18% gratuity is automatically added at the bar. I have the drink package where I can basically get anything. Would the 18% be on top of that or is it automatically in the with package? Specialty coffees are not included from what I read. How much does a latte or something similar cost? We have a shore excursion at Nassau (snorkling). Do you think the directions to get to where we need to go for the shore excursion are pretty clear? Once we are off the boat, how easy is it to get a meal and is that a part of the ships complimentary food? How long does it take to get off and get back on the ship? How are the mosquitoes this time of year (zika virus concerns)? We will be sailing during the superbowl. I normally am not too concerned, but I have a few bets placed this year. The superbowl is supposed to start during our my time dinning. Do they have TVs in the room to check the score every so often? Thanks for all the help! N00BCruiser
  9. Curious if we buy the normal beer package what kind of beers does it cover?
  10. So me and my wife are going on our first ever Royal Caribbean cruise in 3 weeks. We were set to go to europe later on in the year but that couldnt happen so we jumped on this weeks deal on Liberty of the seas for next to nothing. I have been on three Carnival cruises but never royal and my question is should I book drink packages and tix to shows online. Wil carnival they dont have tix, its first come first serve, and they dont have the option of booking drink packages online either. I also plan on eating at Chops while we are on this cruise and didnt know if I should book that online as well. Any feedback would be great. Super excited. Vacation just went from man its going to be a while to woo hoo its here. hahaha
