My question - "Is there a specific itinerary that is "best" for first time river cruisers?" With "ocean cruising", I'm sure many of us started with a Caribbean itinerary. The wife and I have talked in the past about maybe we do a European river cruise, to check out things in Europe and also try out River Cruising. So, when Celebrity announced they are entering the market, we were totally excited that we may be able to experience it with a company we already have some knowledge of and trust in, even though we have never sailed Celebrity. Our History: Our first ocean cruise was a 4N Bahamas cruise with Disney "waaay" back in 2013, but we are experienced cruisers with 4 Disney cruises, 15 Royal cruises, and over 100 nights at sea. We've just not done a river, yet We've also been to Europe once with an Adventures by Disney trip (and Disneyland Paris!) so we have traveled internationally, so understand some of the hiccups that may occur. We rely on our MEI agent, so I'm sure they will also have some great input, but wanted to put this out here for other perspectives. Thanks in advance.

Headed out today on a 10 night Italy & Croatia Adventure! My husband and I are in our early 30s and love sailing RCCL but have recently come to love Celebrity Cruise line! We love the loyalty transfer perks too as we are Diamond + for RCCL and that transferred to Elite on Celebrity! Excited to share more of the perks throughout our trip. This will be our 5th sailing on Celebrity and one of the smaller ships we have sailed on. We originally booked an ocean view cabin because the price simply couldn’t be beat, it was a group price through our travel agent which included the always included package for wifi and drinks. To give you perspective our coach round trip flights cost more than this 10 night cruise for 2 adults! We normally prefer to sail in aqua or a suite but the price couldn’t be beat. A week ago i noticed i kept getting emails with a new deal on Celebrity Moveup and decided to put in a last minute bid for aqua class at the minimum and we got it! On this 10 night sailing we will be visiting RAVENNA, ITALY TRIESTE, ITALY DUBROVNIK, CROATIA (Overnight) SPLIT, CROATIA ZADAR, CROATIA KOTOR, MONTENEGRO AMALFI COAST (SALERNO),ITALY ROME (CIVITAVECCHIA), ITALY I selected this sailing because of the variety in ports of call and the overnight in Dubrovnik. We have never visited Croatia and i hear it is absolutely stunning. Excited to share this adventure with all of you! We head out tonight from Newark to Venice to spend 1 day there before embarking for the cruise! Ciao for now!

I know we are able to recieve the loyalty benefits we have earned with RC when sailing with Celebrity, how exactly do we register this when making a Celebrity cruise? Had a look at the FAQ and couldn't see how to register our RC status with Celebrity.

We booked Millennium this June out of St. Maarten. Decided to book through Flights By Celebrity (FBC). Paid more for a direct flight to and from and also for leaving at reasonable times. Paid approximately $450 p/p. More specifically, the flights I purchased were leaving JFK at 11 a.m. the day before embarkation and 2:00 p.m. on the return. Connecting flights and earlier times were significantly cheaper. First, FBC changed the out bound flight to 7:00 a.m. This is a problem since getting to JFK is always an issue and this adds $150 since Uber is a premium at 3:00 a.m. - Complained and they changed the flight to 8:30 out of Newark. Today they change the return flight to a connecting flight - now making this a 9 hour return flight and again adding an additional $100 Uber premium by the time we get out of the airport at 1:00 a.m. If I had booked this flight originally it would have been $80 less p/p. Now FBC wants $225 p/p to change the tickets. Really?? So I paid a premium for the direct flights that they were selling, they change them to the less expensive fairs and keep the difference...and want to charge $225 per ticket to change the tickets. Watch Out...

Followed a Celebrity email for some sails on Oct 2020 Galapagos sailings. Are they able to sail that region? The prices on Expedition were lowest I've seen. Even Flora had a tempting price point after some discounts.

Hi Everyone, We are mostly all fans of Royal Caribbean; but how does that translate to other sister companies of RCCL; ie Crown & Anchor points, dinning, entertianment and overall experience; what are the differences. Both Azamara & Celebrity sail out of our homeport of Hong Kong but what are the postive driving points about taking a cruise with these sister ships? I am loyal to Royal but curious what else is out there... Thanks RC Blog Friends

Since I didn't see anywhere else to put this, I figured I'd post it here. I'm a semi-regular Celebrity cruiser, semi-regular meaning that around 1/3 of my cruises are on Celebrity. I've also looked at Azamara, but haven't pulled the trigger. I'm sure I'm not alone on this. Especially with status reciprocity at Diamond/Elite levels, it makes sense to look at Celebrity when deciding on a cruise. How about a separate Celebrity/Azamara board where we can discuss Celebrity, and occasionally Azamara, stuff? That way it doesn't mix in with the Royal Caribbean stuff. I think it would be interesting for regular Royal cruisers to see the differences. And those that aren't interested can ignore it. I understand about not diluting the brand too much. But if it's only for "us", the board users, then it doesn't have to creep outside that. Thoughts?
