I know we’re allowed 750ml of wine or champagne (which is also wine) per person on the cruise. Vermouth is considered a fortified wine, like Port or Madeira, but I’m worried RC will not consider it wine but spirits. Has anyone been permitted to bring sweet vermouth or other fortified wine on board? It’s our first cruise on Royal Caribbean ship, transpacific to Tokyo & we are excited! Thanks for your advice!

Are beer and mixed drinks expensive on Royal?

Sorry if this is answered in here somewhere, but knowing the current issues with supply chain, what have you found is the cheapest way to purchase alcohol? I want to get some Kraken. 1. Locally at the port 2. Duty free in the ship 3. Still here in our own liquor stores in the good ole US of A

I'm a fairly simple drinker and tend to stick with things I already know i.e. beers, long islands, bourbon, gin, etc. (could not for the life of me remember all those crazy mixed drink names) Since I am purchasing the deluxe drink package it gives me a rare opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and start experiment with all those crazy drinks with crazy names. (why not!? since im on vacation!) *This will be on the 7 day symphony of the seas western caribbean jan, 2020* So my question is: Does anyone have a list of official drink names and the ingredients that they could send me? (I plan on printing or copy pasting the list to take with me to the cruise lol)

My partner and I were planning to bring 2 bottles of red with us for our 7 night cruise. However, 2 bottles will typically last us three, maybe four dinners. Since we will be having 7 dinners (and perhaps wine with a lunch or two), we have been wondering which would be more cost effective: ordering a bottle at a meal (I cannot find the prices for bottles of wine served in dinning rooms on Oasis of the Seas) or doing one of those gift things and having the wine delivered to the room as a gift, purchased from RCI. Second question though, if we do order a bottle of wine before boarding from RCI as a gift (to ourselves) on the cruise planner or what not, will we be charged a corkage fee if we bring it to the dinning room or to a meal? Or will they know that we've purchased that from RCI? Sorry for the dumb question.

I was on the “Harmony of the seas” last month.(April 21). And while I was there I got a drink from the Bionic Bar called, “The Lion.” Its a bright red alcoholic drink made with cranberry. And I can’t seem to find the recipe for it anywhere! Anyone have it for me?

Hi!!! Quick question. I want to go to the Bacardi distillery prior to boarding ( I won't have time when we return). We are leaving out of San Juan (not a port). Is there a way to check my alcohol in with security (to hold until the end of the cruise) prior to boarding? I don't want to buy from the distillery, if I cannot check it in with security. Does anyone know??? Thanks in advance!

Cruising on Serenity of the Seas in April but haven't been on a cruise in years. I was wondering if a drink package is now a necessity or if there is still water, juice and coffee available for breakfast and water with dinner in the dining room?

Hi! A few friends and I just booked the 7 night Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan on 3/17/2019. I am wondering if anyone knows when RCCL will have a promo going on for the drink package? Apparently the price is increasing in 2019 and I don't think I am going to drink $63-$74 per day in alcohol lol. I figured I won't get one or I will wait for a promo. Thank you in advance!

We're going on an Alaskan cruise on Ovation of the Seas September 2019 and I'm wondering if we can purchase a bottle of rum on the ship and drink it in our stateroom while on the cruise?

This is our second cruise and our first on Royal Caribbean (Liberty of the Seas to West Caribbean in August). I was wondering how much cocktails typically cost to decide if an alcohol package is worth it to us. I like Baileys, Kailua, and Frangelico over ice however, I read about the Bailey's banana colada that sounds tasty. My husband always orders Negroni's (Sapphire gin, campari, and vermouth) and I love Mojito's. Would all these come under $12 such that they would be free with a package? We both like micro brews which aren't sold on the cruise ship. Also, are the non-alcoholic drinks free with meals. Is there an open cafeteria that you can always enter to get a free coke or juice or coffee? I am trying to see if I should get my teens the mocktail package or just the coke package. Can I bring a six pack of water bottle on board? Is the policy 2 bottles per stateroom or one per over 21 drinker assuming two per room? They split my husband and I up with our two teens (their policy) so technically there is an over 21 adult in each of our rooms so could we bring a total of 4 bottles of wine/champagne? I assume hard alcohol is not allowed as a bottle? Our last cruise we bought hard alcohol from the ship that was in our room on Day 1. Does RC do this too? Thanks all!

Hello All, I'm a first time RC cruiser, when I booked our cruise last January (2016) I was told we could use our $200 on board credit towards the drink packages for our Oasis of the Seas cruise. After paying for the cruise and speaking with customer service, they told me they can't apply it but I can buy the drink package once I board the ship with my credits? Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I was also told by my booking agent that I could purchase liquor at the duty free shop and immediately take it back to my cabin, and the posts on this blog seem to argue otherwise. So I'm quite confused what on earth is right because I feel like the booking agents tell you one thing then the customer service agents say the opposite. Can a recent cruiser clarify any of this for me? Thanks in advance!

First time cruiser and I wanted to find out the true cost of the alcohol packages. On the website it states the Ultimate Package is $59, the Premium is $49, the Select $39. Does that include gratuity? Or will they take the price multiply it by the number of nights then add 18%? Thanks for your input!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to go ahead and share my experience with the premium package, I notice it is a question brought up by many and before my most recent trip I also had a few concerns! I hope to clarify a few things for everyone. This is of course my opinion on the topic. In my opinion the package is worth it.... 1. if you don't plan on spending too much time with excursions 2. it is your second time cruising! 3. You have OBC 4. You enjoy drinking and can see yourself having a minimum of 5 spirits a day 5. Enjoy trying new drinks, beers, wines. 6. Short duration cruises (3-5 nights) To be fair we had $125 in OBC, it was our second time, so me and the gf decided to put it towards our packages, since we didn't really plan on doing excursions this time around and last time we experienced Nassau, we did so off the beaten path and planned on doing the same which didn't take too much time of our day so we were back on the ship sooner than expected, our itinerary also helped, first two days at sea, nassau, and then Cococay. I thought it would be great to experience our vacation without worrying of overspending on drinks and if we decided to get one of the other packages available and still spend on drinks we probably would've overspent and regretted not getting the package which included non-alcholic cocktails, frozen drinks and the souvenir cup, on top of beer, wine, and spirits, it just made sense to approach it this way! I am usually up early so I enjoyed drinks for lunch, by the pool deck and anywhere we made a stop really, I also enjoy dancing so I took advantage at night during the club hours and pool deck parties. I suggest to get drinks before attending any of the entertainment (comedy, gameshows, broadway, etc) Its kind of annoying to be signing while the show is going on and disturbing others all together, they also usually take quite a while. One thing to note, some drinks are premixed, therefore they taste as if there is no alcohol in them, if you mention this, they can either get you another drink or some bartenders were cool enough to add an extra shot, but company policy does not allow them to, if I am not mistaken. Its definitely something to keep in mind, I wish I knew which ones were premixed, I want to say the rum runner was definitely one, the blended ones usually aren't hence you see them making it in the moment. Also the $50 fee covers the gratuity for the package! Hope this helps guys! any questions post them here, hope that was enough info! lol
