  1. That's weird, I was able to pay for both our royal replenish packages through the planner ahead of time. While I know you're still too far out, I wonder if the inability to pay pre-cruise at all is indeed related to a difference in charged currency?
  2. I think you hit on the scenario of when the tipping occurs. I've never heard of anyone tipping INSIDE baggage checkers/handlers however curbside check in has always been an apt to be tipped job location. The one inside exception is airport skycaps who assist with luggage and wheelchairs, often contracted by the airlines to assist passengers upon request above and beyond what is normal and expected from the airlines. Part of me wonders if porters are treated like many restaurant and like industry jobs where they are allowed to be payed below federal minimum wage because of tip expectations. Im not saying its right, wrong or anything in between. Edit: oops left the reply open for 40 minutes and find the topic back on the rails. Sorry, not trying to derail a rerailed rail cruise...thing... nevermind. :) . Happy cruising!
  3. Unfortunately no. They said to get the OBC via re-booking would have to go on current rate pricing. Right now ours would be about 200 total higher than when I booked early may, so not worth it yet (cmon 75-45 day range price adjustments!). Its ok though considering the rate to begin with was a few hundred per person cheaper than almost anytime in the months before OR after. It seems less travel intensive holidays are the way to go!
  4. Just an fyi/update for anyone else considering adjustment for the new sale. I was just informed (I musta missed it in there somewhere) that the July 1-4 WOW sale only applies to new bookings. Ahh well, cant win em all :) .
  5. Ok, thanks. I figured it'd be a bit odd if you were essentially penalized for early full payment. I'm glad Royal Caribbean gives its people the autonomy/authority to make reasonable changes to your booking without having a thousand layers of management to go through. Tis the mark of a great company!
  6. I just noticed the 2nd WOW sale going on, and see that our cruise is one of the ones benefiting from the OBC. I wanna say that the original booking had a $50 OBC.This new one doesn't go off room type though and just length, though the total possible amount is half(last OBC promo was 400 max). That old deal wasn't nearly as awesome as this one though i think just because of how long and how high of a room type you had to get to maximize your freebie OBC. I need to call in the morning and see if they'll bump us to the current offer of $100 (ours is a 7 night). . I'm not sure if they'll reject that though since i made payment in full the day I booked. We're still 90 days out from departure so 45 days till the official final payment date.Cant hurt to try ;) . P.S. Was paying in full immediately a rookie mistake? Since our honeymoon cruise was paid mostly by family as a wedding gift, this was my first time doing it all personally. Hopefully the final payment thing i see everyone talk about means the official final date.
  7. August 31st 2014 Navigator of the Seas :) .
  8. Hi, my name is Michael. I live in Oklahoma but am a proud Texan (irony I know!). My wife and I first cruised for our 4 month belated honeymoon Sept. of 2009 on the Enchantment. We were enchanted with the Enchantment. 5 years later we're finally able and going again August 31st aboard the Navigator.
  9. Thanks! We're excited to finally get our sea legs going again and the less to worry about the better. I apreciate the help!
  10. Hi, I had posted on the blog article comments but realized these forums are viewed more often. I have a suit for formal and slacks with button up collared shirts for every other night. My question is for my wife who will not wear cocktail dresses or one piece dresses as she says they are too form fitting. Are NICE 'Sunday's finest' fine( like something you'd wear to a wedding or funeral ) fine? I know opinions are split so I'm curious what yalls thoughts are. I'm a bit surprised that men get 2 options but women do not. We avoided the issue on our honeymoon 5 yrs ago as it was only a 4 night... however with 7 nights this time we would like to go to one formal so we can at least experience it finally.
