  1. YMMV but on Anthem, the CK manager did tell me that they can make the filet any night for SC guests. @TheHobbysalso confirmed this when he sailed Anthem. Here’s what I am getting at...it might not hurt to ask if they can make you the CK filet for lunch on embarkation day (ask your genie to request this ahead of time). If they are serving the filet on Night 1, perhaps they can make it a few hours earlier, and then you can go to Chops for dinner. To throw another wrench into your plans though, the Night 1 Filet menu in CK is one of my all time favourites. Not just because of the filet but the entire dinner menu is perfect! The pork belly is amazing!!
  2. Oh I remember it. I just forgot about the freaky whatever that is. Actually, I think that is same sailing that Ken had the cabin that I just booked on Adventure.
  3. I recently booked a hump balcony on Deck 10 of Adventure. First time actually that I've had cabin right on the hump. I watched a YouTube video of the room and it looked fine but then I recently read a post (cannot remember which thread now) by @twangster where he mentioned being able to smell the smoke from the balconies in front of him. That had me wondering if I should move. I have not yet. I don't really want give up the room so still thinking. As far as being close to the elevators, I have done many cabins near elevators and we don't notice much noise. It's not like a hotel where the elevator is right outside your door. There is a wall and stairs before you get to the hallway where the cabins are. The only downside is that because it's a higher traffic area, you sometimes get noise from those passing by.
  4. Usually I try to update at least once per week. You can always tell from the last "heart" reaction that I have given what point I got up to. @MuttMutthad a great suggestion a few posts ago to note on the Master List when the last update was so I have implemented that suggestion. If you go to the master list, you can see near the top (in purple) when the latest update was.
  5. You could do that. I am not sure about the refund part as I have not come across that particular situation but money can be applied to an onboard account once on board. An alternative would to get them a gift certificate. My sister did this for me once back in 2019. She was not sailing with us but she knew that all I really wanted (other than to cruise) was a cabana. So a few months prior to the sailing, she called Royal and purchased a gift certificate for me to use towards the cabana. She didn't even have my reservation number, they were able to look it up with the information that she could provide. Once onboard, that money was already applied to my on board account.
  6. I've been updating this list since March 2019.
  7. You will always have a place on my balcony. ?
  8. That has been my plan since March 2020 lol. Problem is that now I am booking refundable land vacations in case the cruises don't sail so confusion is a real problem these days! ?
  9. The reports are very mixed. Quite a few people also said they heard nothing. But then many also said go to Deck 10. We don't really go to bed that early but we figured we'll just play it safe and go to Deck 10. And according to cruise deck plans, the center lofts on Deck 10 are actually slight larger than Deck 8. I always thought is was the ATS, smaller as you go higher, but it's the reverse.
  10. Book early. Watch pricing. You can get your price adjusted up until final payment. Lots of time for those prices to change. FWIW, the Adventure July 2022 sailing I grabbed has dropped twice now since release two weeks ago. Not much, but a bit.
  11. If you google "Anthem of the Seas 10724" or "Anthem of the seas 10324" you will find tons of pics and videos of those cabins.
  12. While you get the 3 balconies with the corner ones, you lose a lot of square footage inside. It's 696 sq. ft. for the corner ones, compared to 840 sq. ft. for the center ones on Deck 10. If it's just two people, it doesn't really matter, but when I travel with my teenage girls, we'll take all the extra square footage we can get!
  13. We did too, thanks to @WAAAYTOOO. At first we grabbed a middle one on Deck 8, but then moved up to Deck 10 because there were mixed reports of noise from Deck 8. We sail in July 2022.
  14. I think that deposits for 6+ nights have always been $500. Isn’t the $200 amount only for 5 nights and under?
  15. Both my kids are over 12, so hopefully by end of 2021 or early 2022....
  16. Cabin crawls that involve @Mattalways fall into the memorable and fun category. ?
  17. Guilty. lol It's actually the Canada one. I was disappointed because we lost the 9 night Canada/NE in July 2020. This June, we are going to lose the Canada sailing on Oasis. So while I don't love the 4 night (too short) to one port only, the dates work out well with our anniversary, it takes us to the east coast, and it's Adventure so we figured we'll just extend the trip by spending a few days in NYC pre-cruise. I will have to look for a 9 night Canada/NE sailing another year when it doesn't conflict with my work schedule. I don't know why they are only doing them in September/October in 2022. If Hubby and I can both get vaccinated in time (he's Phase 1 and I should be Phase 2), we are going to the Rockies this summer. Staying in Canada, but at least we can get away for a bit.
  18. Star Class is a fantastic experience. My advice is not to invest too much into what others say, but to let your Genie do their thing. Everyone's experience is different and by trying to make it into someone else's experience, disappointment will usually follow. Most Genies are fantastic. There is no way at this point to predict or even know who will be on Oasis. With covid, all the genies have gone home and sadly, some have even left Royal to do other things. Also keep in mind, that while the overall benefits of Star are the same across the fleet, there are many variances by ship as well. Sometimes what you hear from others about what is allowed on one ship, may not be allowed on another. It should not be this way, but some aspects of the program are very ship and Genie dependent. Another reason to not invest too much into what others are saying and just let your Genie do their thing. There are quite a few Star class blogs here in the live blog section. That is a great way to get info about the program. Just go to live blogs and search that forum for "Star class" or "genie" in the search bar and tons will come up. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/forum/11-live-blogs/
