  1. Suite Lounge will hand over cans. No purchase or beverage package required. Perk of being a suite guest.
  2. Sitdown, the photo posted where the bar is seen has some tables and chairs. Not sure, but it might be available no matter where you are up in The Retreat.
  3. One advantage of The Retreat Sundeck is lunch is served. However the suite restaurant, Luminae, isn't open on port days. Luminae Signature Burger Marinated Chicken Sandwich Will added the burger served in Luminae is completely different. Much thicker patty and seemed to be hand formed, tempted to say the one up in The Retreat is the same one as used in Mast Grill.
  4. After dinner went to Eden to watch Revelation at Eden. Don't even ask me what the story line is. Will add these pictures do the show no justice. It is one of those "see for yourself" type deals.
  5. Sorry for skipping out last night... Vegetarians beware on the is post. Dinner was at Fine Cut Steakhouse and other than the noise from the Grand Plaza below it great. Between Fine Cut and Chops, the win would go towards Fine Cut. Many of the Chops core components make themself known at Fine Cut. Plus one of my favorite discontinuted item from Chops is available at Fine Cut. Appetizer selections for the night were... Pan-Seared Scallops Ahi Tuna Tartare Shrimp Cocktail Black Pepper Bacon Entree USDA Prime Boneless Ribeye For something I've not seen, Bone-in Filet Mignon (Then again I don't visit "fancy" steakhouses.) Now if you happened to want an additional entree it would set you back $20. Sides Hopefully it should be obvious matching name of side to the side shown in the photo. Parmesan Truffle Fries, Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese, Creamed Spinach, and Grilled Asparagus Still managing to having some room for dessert Ultimate Chocolate Sundae, hard to tell but it had three scoops of ice cream. Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Double Chocolate Brownie, this brownie was more towards a flourless chocolate cake in taste and richness. Will also add the Sundae had a few bits in it as well.
  6. Despite all the NOs, the answer is technically YES on the person getting free pop. Other than tracking when the chip is first used no personal tracking of the cup is done. If a cup is lost it will still be usable until the system expires the cup. No ship personnel can tie a cup to an individual. If you buy a beverage package when boarding they just randomly give you a cup. They don't scan the cup to record any information. So the answer for the cup getting disabled is NO.
  7. Getting back to the ship some of the nice #modernluxury touches shine. After having the cards checked by one of the port security agents I was greeted with the offering of a cold cup of water and an ice cold towel, right nearby was a bin to toss said towels. Heading back towards the ship I was able to better capture the Magic Carpet in it's tender platform glory. Some more shots of the exit/outside of The Destination Gateway Overlooking the Magic Carpet Due to some stairs going between the outside area of The Destination Gateway and the Magic Carpet there is a wheelchair lift. Overall the tendering process using this system is wonderful, such great ease getting on and off. The only challenge is in the case of low tide the step land side going between the tender and dock can be a challenge. I'll also add they were using the larger traditional two deck tender at another entrance at the forward section of the ship.
  8. Today's port of call is Grand Cayman. One of the nice features of Edge is the use of the Magic Carpet as a tender platform and ship has some of the life boats configured as tenders. These tenders have nice cushioned seats and are air conditioned. No two level open air tenders being used with the exception of ones for shore excursions.
  9. For those wondering what The Retreat Lounge has to offer at breakfast. Those cinnamon rolls on the end were kept nice and warm. Care for some adult grape juice
  10. No conjuring here. Seemed more or less random when things started and really never intruded further in to where everyone was seated. I also had my back towards the rest of the dining area so I'm not sure if it might have been another table triggering it. Eating while they were performing, didn't seem be that much of an issue. Don't recall any of the courses being set down during a performance. They weren't constant either, had a sizable gap between them.
  11. Just finished up dinner at Rooftop Garden Grill. To sum it up, not very impressed especially at the price point it is. If you're use to good smoked barbecue, I'd tread lightly. First off, sorry for no photo sampling of tonight's meal. I'll do my best to go over each item that I tried. Appetizers Train Wreck Fries: Base are the standard fries, same ones used every where on the ship. Bacon, can't complain about that. Four cheeses, this was just a basic cheese sauce. Hot peppers, think they might have been banana peppers. The peppers had more of a kick from vinegar than a true scoville kick. Scallions are scallions. Ranch dressing, not much to say about that either. Braised Beef Short Rib Chili: Nice spice blend, wouldn't call it spicy. Does have beans in it. Wasn't a thick chili, was almost along the lines of a stew. Smoked Chicken Wings: Sampled both the dry rub and spicy buffalo versions, 8 wings to an order (had 4 of each). Dry rub version had a very light smoke flavor that got somewhat over powered by the extra dry rub added prior to serving. Buffalo version, same wing without the extra dry rub tossed in buffalo sauce. Heat level of the sauce might be on par of the "Little League" sauce from Playmakers. Wouldn't call super spicy but I'm some might. Salads Salad, nothing can be cause nothing was ordered. Entrees Seafood Kabob: Was ok, just nothing special to write about. Served two skewers, each two medium size shrimp, sea scallop, and cube of salmon. Grilled Bratwurst: Bun was good, bratwurst was nothing remarkable. Hickory-Smoked Brisket: Sum it up it was on the mushy side. Almost as if it had been pre-sliced and left sitting. Didn't notice much in the was of a smoked taste. Mesquite Baby Back Ribs (dry): Same thing again, seemed soggy and mushy. Extra dry rub was added prior to serving. I did feel the ribs had some smoke flavor to them. However, this could have been from smoked seasonings used in the dry rub. Dessert The Cookies: Chocolate chip cookie partly cooked in a ramekin. Had that crispy outer ring with a soft center. Served hot and fresh with a scoop of Vanilla gelato. Cocktail highlight Yes, it claims to have steak sauce in it. Yes, in my head I believed I could pickup the hints of the steak sauce. Had two just to verify my findings. Overall for what the cost was it wasn't that impressive for dinner. With it being outside you're at the mercy of the wind conditions and weather in general. No inside area is available. The Rooftop Garden area in general was nice. Not Central Park nice, but nice.
  12. Out of Terminal A in Miami I've been 2/2 successful. Experience wise it was standing still for about 30 seconds for the machine to register. Only other delay might be if the terminal agent has to adjust the angle of the camera.
  13. I'm mixed opinion about these new cups. One one hand they do seem easier to haul around with the carry handle. One benefit is it looks like the handle is removable. Also like the idea of having a straw. Now the flip side they do seem a bit cheap looking. Then again the current cups aren't all that either. Think maybe if the lid wasn't a dome shape it might be more appealing. Artwork on the outside is just a rehash of the current artwork, just not shiny. I also think a few years back they had a non-insulated cup that did seem similar. Biggest complaint was the lid was a snap on and difficult to remove and snap back on. Really for me it comes down to one question. How easy can the "chip" be removed?
  14. Nothing really needs to be done precruise. Just the reservations setup in the manner mentioned. Once onboard go to Guest Services and they can issue an extra key card for each room. Just one thing to keep in mind any charges that would get applied to the room would hit the first person on the reservation. Only time this is really important, off the top of my head, is in the case of room service charges
  15. What is great going with two people. If they don't have any preferences and willing to share the menu is split in two colunms. Just tell the waiter one person will do the left column and the other the right.
  16. Just got done dining at Eden Restaurant. Was a very interesting meal to say the least, in a good way. Eden Restaurant is located on the lower level of Eden. Access is via set of stairs from deck 5. Note there is a wheelchair lift for those that might need it. When being seated you'll pass by the open kitchen and offered a welcome beverage. The menu is divided into five courses, each course having two options. After ordering you're brought a small little taster. Appetizers Raindrops Descending Frost First Entree Blue Velvet During the meal are small little acts performed by the Edenist --Note, the pictures showing the acts are not in any proper order or within the proper course timeline.-- Second Entree Tidal Pool Cove Another random performance Also if you want to have a perforer get a bit more closer and personal with you they can be summed. Just hold the summoning stone and make eye contact. Yes, that is a real candle Third Entree Life After Death (Sorry about not having a picture perfect plating. The beef had been a touch under cooked and was "attacked" before the shot could be taken.) Mangalitsa Yet another performance Dessert time Looking Glass Forbidden Fruit In addition you also get Eden Restaurant's rendition of The Globe Overall if you like Wonderland give Eden Restaurant a try. Keep in mind the menu does seem a bit seafood heavy. So if you're not a big fan, might want to pass. Now me personally, I could go for another few rounds of the Descending Frost and maybe another Cove. Side note: Pleasant having a dining package and not being presented a receipt at the end of the meal. I'm sure if one desired to leave extra gratuity they could request one. Overall, have yet to get one with any beverage package purchase. --Note: At ~10:30 EDT this post was edited enhanced/edited pictures--
  17. Ramen anyone? Your choice of three stocks. Not your thing or don't want to stray too far from the pool. Stop by Mast Grill for a burger (beef, turkey, or veggie) or hotdog and some fries.
  18. Solarium at night Nice being trusted with towels and not worrying about being possibility of being charge $25 for one...
  19. Good thing I stumbled upon this right away. Just happened to be looking for a table and wound up right outside that section. Was getting up and head back toward the main area when the dough balls caught my eye.
