  1. Minimum of $5 total, but $1 to $2 per bag. I am a little more generous if we use them to disembark and they get us past all the lines and straight to customs. I am interested to see what other say as I am hoping I am not being cheap.

I usually tip 5 as well but will tip more if the porter seems very sociable. I appreciate someone with a positive attitude. Sometimes on embarkation day I'll tip a little more than 5, but 5 is my usual amount so nope, you are definitely not being cheap ;)

  2. I am a little bit upset, because I prepaid for Voom on my Cruise for Allure OTS, on 5-15-16 BEFORE there was two different plans.

So what does that mean for me?

I want to make sure, I don't get jipped on not having the Voom Surf + Stream, because I plan on Periscoping.

Of Course when I called Royal Caribbean, the girl had no clue that there was two different Internet packages, so I'm gonna have to wait, and call back tomorrow, when the office I need to speak with are open. In cruise planner, so they can look at my reservation see what I bought.

I would like to think since you purchased before they offered different levels of VOOM packages that you would have the surf and stream package. It will be interesting to hear what they tell you.

I noticed on my Liberty of the Seas sailing they are now offering the VOOM packages whereas before it was just the regular wifi. Perhaps Liberty's wifi has been upgraded

  3. When you go to book a show it will show you the dates and times available for each show. On Oasis class it is very rare to have a conflict with a show and dinner as there usually a few showtimes offered for each show.

As far as a schedule that I am not sure of but I am sure Matt or one of the other seasoned cruisers can help out on that. I am sure there is one, just don't know where

  4. Hello friends!

So I needed to share with you my experience with cancelling a booking on another line(fun ships, hint hint). Normally I cruise Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Princess. Well I decided I wanted to give this line a try just to see what they were like. Well after a while I decided I would be getting out of my comfort zone straying away from my 3 favorite lines, so I decided to cancel it.

When you book with this line they have several different fare structures to select from. The first one that they always try to push on you is Early Saver. This gets you the lowest fare BUT your deposit is non refundable. I purposely avoided that because if I wanted to cancel or needed to I did not want a future cruise credit instead of a refund. When my ta went to cancel this booking, Carnival insisted I booked it under the early saver rate so I would not get a refund on the deposit. A deposit of 500 dollars nonetheless! Yes I would get back the other 1000 paid on the balance but not the deposit. I had a copy of the original invoice at home but I was in Texas at the time.

This turned into a back and forth argument all day that got me so furious I ended up getting sick. Finally, Carnival admitted they made a mistake and I was right but offered no apology for spending the day telling me it was my goof up. Would Royal Caribbean or sister line Celebrity had done this? I think not because for one thing they do not have all these different fare structures and two, everything is up front and clearly spelled out before you hit book.

The moral of the story? Stick with what you're comfortable with.Carnival lost me before I even set foot on one of their ships. I look forward to sailing on Liberty of the Seas later this fall instead :)

  5. It is somewhat odd that another increase is coming just ten months after the last one but one of Royal's competitors(NCL) raised them twice in an ever shorter amount of time. But also ever since the new ceo took over there his vision for the company seems to be raise the price on everything as fast as humanely possible. It made me go from wanting to try the line out to now no interest whatsoever

  6. Chris,

Only thing I got so far, was the PayPal confirmation that I had put down a $10 deposit, is that the confirmation letter that you were talking about? Or is Mr. Shancho's actually going to send me something?

    Thank You for your help.

It's been a while since I've been to Sanchos so I am trying to remember if they send you a confirmation or not. I know Nachi does because I have that reserved for my Oasis cruise. I would say print what you received from PayPal and take that with if you don't receive anything else.

  7. I just put down a $10.00 deposit, for myself, and hubby, to go to Mr Sancho's, when we are in Cozumel Mexico.

I have never been to Mr. Sancho's before. I wanted to know, do I pay the balance when we get there?

Any one that has been there, Opinions, as a must try when we are there?

Kathy I'vr been to Sanchos twice. Yep you pay the balance when you get there. Make sure to print your confirmation letter and bring it with you when you check in at the resort. Sanchos is nice and the food is good there(especially the grilled shrimp) but honestly next time you go to Cozumel I would recommend trying Nachi Cocum. They only allow a maximum of 100 guests there and I find the food there to be a little fresher than Sanchos.

But you will enjoy Sanchos. Just next time give Nachi a try and see what you think of it :)
