  1. Uber would be the best option. You are looking at a $10-$15 ride from the train station to a hotel on the 17th street corridor.
  2. Now I need to rewatch it because I think “John S” is a superstar.
  3. Yep, the song just wouldn’t sound right. “It’s a perfect daaaaaayyyyyy at coco keeeeyyyy” won’t work well. It’s already annoying as it is.
  4. From now on in my house we will refer to sorrentos as Sorentinos much like @matt calls coco cay “coco key”. I still never understood how cay is key????
  5. This guy has a great radio voice! And I never thought to call Sorrentos “Sorentinos”.
  6. If we ever go solo w/o the kids I will try & review this place because I hear lots of good things about it.
  7. On point for sure. We dined at Peter Luger in Cesars Palace and that was closer to $500/pp w/o bottles of wine. The $200/pp is a bargain IMHO for the experience.
  8. That’s good to hear! At least someone is confirmed to be winning something.
  9. Can anyone confirm a Royal Up win on a holiday sailing over the last couple of years (low capacity pandemic era cruising excluded)? I have seen a few wins posted during non holiday sailings but not much else. In the past I have won several times during our annual Labor Day, Thanksgiving and New Years 7 day voyages but my luck has apparently expired.
  10. We rented a jeep once and rode the perimeter where we found a great spot right on the water (eastern portion of island) Coconuts bar and grill. The ride is pretty great and you can stop for sightseeing at the lighthouse along Quintana Roo C-1 which is the perimeter road around the island. This ride was enjoyable and safe.
  11. The “new cruisers” would consider $200/pp just another night on the town. People will pay and RC knows that. My only hesitation is the dress code as I am way too important to conform to anyone’s dress code . Despite my hesitation, I have been informed that we are booked already for March. I guess I will need to go buy a suit.
  12. GS yes, JS no. Either way, it’s worth it to submit a bid in the very low probability event that you win and get a great deal. Good luck.
  13. You don’t have to be invited. Royal Up has a page where you enter last name & reservation number and if available, options will be presented.
  14. Not too many people winning these days. Better luck next time.
  15. Agree. The JS is always a good option with GS being icing on the cake!
  16. Oasis is the oldest but stacks up with the best of them due to the AMP. We really enjoy this ship and will be sailing her 2024 for NYE on the S. Caribbean route!
  17. Yes, that’s a better description. Star will go from crazy to crazier.
  18. Oh, it matters. The only way to get even a hint of decency regarding price is to book out to 2025 at this point. In two days we are going to book Star for Thanksgiving 25 because that one is going to get a bit crazy regarding pricing if you hold off.
  19. Yes, the port berth in Miami certainly costs a pretty penny but I believe there is more to the story. The company normally does a couple short travel agent and executive cruises and then the general VIP visits exc before paying passengers go on the first official inaugural voyage 1/27. The Oasis Class ships were still being outfitted in Miami and Port Everglades when they first arrived so it’s possible Icon will have time built in to bring on US based contractors to complete some of the specialized action items that couldn’t be done in Europe.
  20. Excellent thank you for the great info!
  21. This might be an issue if you enjoy the ease of a Florida port and are loyal to RC. The trend seems to be to route everything through PDCC lately and I guess that makes good business sense for the company. This might be an instance where you alternate on the competition.
  22. It’s a whole different experience in a good way. The Oasis class ships are noticeably smoother and the Caribbean waters are also less turbulent than the Pacific waters. You will really enjoy Symphony.
  23. Symphony 12/30 sailing we have bids in on CLS, GS, OS and hoping for a long shot win for yet another holiday sailing. At some point our Royal up luck has to turn around because it’s been rough lately.
