  1. The chair hogs are out in full force this week on Symphony. It’s really bad. I don’t bother with the formalities any longer, if I see unoccupied chairs with towels and there are no other available options then they are mine. I haven’t had any issues because these are hog chairs. It is important to note the staff does not have the resources to police this issue so this is the way I am handling it for my family.
  2. Haha. I know those roof hatches really well. Salley Hall: Florida State University circa 1996, we were riding on top of the elevators constantly. Perhaps we should have been studying?
  3. I think the duck hiding game has officially moved to the next level on Symphony. Yellow ducky spotted on top of the elevator (deck 14).
  4. The cut back methodology at RC is hilarious. The decision to hold back the butter tray is the best one yet!
  5. I’m pretty sure it does. The company upgrades machines in port often. Rich Little Piggies is a popular money maker. Check YouTube casino walk through of Allure to verify.
  6. I saw these for the first time on Wonder in Nov. I can actually hear Danny from Harr Travel praising the upgraded Malin + Goetz bathroom amenities in one of his suite reviews.
  7. Overall it was a pleasure leaving from Port Everglades. I say that from both a convenience factor (for us) and the overall flow of the port from parking to embarkation. I would like to add that as far as FL ports go, Port Canaveral seems to be the absolute winner in terms of terminal parking and early ship embarkation. Port of Miami has its positives regarding the amazing terminal but I find the back end debark to be a PITA (especially at the parking garage elevator bank). I think hands down, Port Everglades has the best paid parking option (although I am biased living 1/4 mile from terminal 18).
  8. Pro Tip: Taught the kid how to use the juice to get quick drinks from the bar. She gets her Shirley temples real quick!
  9. Important to note you need to get here early to get a decent spot. Timing is everything.
  10. For those of you considering parking at T18 Port Everglades, here is some perspective on the parking lot in close proximity to the ship. Today we went from my living room to the promenade of Symphony in 35 minutes flat.
  11. Have you ever been to the rocks on the point? You can enter through Harbour Inlet Dr (Just E of 17th Street Bridge) and walk though one of the condos to the beach. If you head South on the beach you can watch the ships exit from the rocks which is pretty great.
  12. It’s a little cold but walking down A1A about this time is really nice. Hopefully it warms up so your family can enjoy the beach. We are leaving the house at 10am to board Symphony and I hope to not be bringing a hoodie!
  13. Agree, the esplanade is different. Maybe just the lack of a very familiar royal promenade made it seem awkward? In any case, the epic playmakers, music hall and 270 make up for any deficiencies. The Odyssey is a great ship!
  14. Safe travels. I can see the sun peaking out so it might turn out to be a good day!
  15. Order 2 Ubers and put 1 adult in each and your problem is solved. Airport shuttles are annoying and unnecessary in Fort Lauderdale. Everything (including the port) is located within 2 miles of the airport. If you need more detailed assistance I can help.
  16. Friday 70F, Saturday 67F highs. Not 100% perfect beach weather but the sun should make an appearance. I don’t trust the forecasts so maybe it will be surprisingly better than projected.
