  1. If I actually thought you were interested I would elaborate.
  2. I literally never saw this as a fan site. It's nowhere in the name. I've always seen it as a place to get help and information. And it has. I just don't believe any business, celebrity, political figure etc deserve or warrants endless praise and or defense. They can and do wrong. And I don't believe in cut and run. I believe with enough criticism and holding to higher standards, change may be possible. But first step is not running to there defense every time. Expect more, demand more, and see what can be accomplished. Is that such a bad philosophy?
  3. Then you are doing yourself a disservice. Hold Chillis to the highest standard they can maintain. Nobody is comparing restaurants or cruise lines. Budget is a Bull ship excuse. To only expect what you paid for when you pay a lot? No way. Hold them to the highest standard. Always. Do you expect good care from your physician? Is he on Park Ave? Always hold people and especially businesses to the highest possible standards.
  4. I get that. Just please tell me you see it as the get out of jail free loop hole it is? Thanks.
  5. In my opinion by going out of your way to put that up, you are defending them. I can see the port thing or anything related to weather. However, being to greedy to take ships out of service more often for this kind of work is no more then a loop hole. Greed and lack of care for customers.
  6. So happy my genuine frustration is amusing you. I'm just not a sycophant to any big business and believe in holding them 100% accountable for the product they sell me. I truly do not understand the need here to constantly defend a multi billion dollar corporation. They are big boys and can handle everything I'm saying without the little tribe chiming in endlessly.
  7. You say nobody is saying they can do no wrong. If what you paid for is not open/working move on. I say bull ship. Hold a greedy business accountable for delivering the product they advertised and sold you. Saying oh well it is what it is and not fighting back to me is the equivalent of saying they can do no wrong. Well you only spent $1k not $4k so that's not my idea of top dollar. You should be happy with whatever you get. That's what I'm getting here. And that won't fly.
  8. First off "Top Dollar" is something for each individual to determine. NOT YOU!!! Second there is a massive difference between planned and unplanned. And that does matter. Don't be so dam cheap and greedy that you don't pull a ship out of service for a week each year to do these things. Instead of when full with passengers. Oh but we owe billions. We will loose money dry dock a week a year. Well as you said "Ship happens". That goes both ways.
  9. Just because I don't see multi billion dollar corporations as the poor little souls that need endless defending from sycophants. I should be told where to travel by the likes of you.
  10. I'm sorry I cannot stand people who defend cruise lines like they can do no wrong. They expect top dollar from me and I expect top service from them. And if you have a problem with that it's yours, not mine.
  11. I'll bite. How do you know you will be on deck 10?
  12. My point has Nothing to do with Covid. And I DON'T OWN A CRUISE SHIP! Nor should I care about what they owe and to who they owe it!!! That's there problem, NOT MINE!!!! If they cannot afford to stay in business they should fold. I don't get people on message boards defending me when it comes time to make my payments. Why should I care about the financial problems on there end? And everyones prices go up for a multitude of reasons. That's called life!
  13. "Lucky to be able to cruise" Bull. People pay top dollar. I ain't Lucky. I ain't there for free. Emergency repairs are one thing. This sounds totally planned. And I am sick of hearing how much money cruise lines lost. That is there problem, not mine.
  14. I never was commenting on the compensation aspect. Only the piss poor advanced planning and notification or lack there of.
  15. I think the difference here is scheduled maintenance vs emergency maintenance. Based on what I read about supplies etc this sounds like it was planned. (Obviously with nothought to the guest).
  16. I'm going to disagree. You can't compare the two. At a Disney resort if a pool will be closed for maintenance, you will be notified at time of booking. Also the maintenance schedule for major attractions like splash mountain etc is published months in advance along with hotel pool maintenance so guests can plan accordingly to there own specific needs and wants. There is a difference.
  17. These prices are right in line (almost identical) to my 2023 Wonder sailing. And many of those features are sold out already. Nothing out of the ordinary. This is the new normal.
  18. Oh but this goes beyond a schmuck at the bar. This was a disaster and a health hazard. Nobody would have blamed you for causing a scene. And screw anyone who would. The problem now is while I never had this problem, I have read plenty of people say once home it's a harder fight. I would hit them by phone, email, letter etc all at once. You deserve so much more. 50% off next cruise minimum. Might have better luck settling for discounts over refunds with RC. There actually is a time and place for being a total and complete B**** lol. I really hope you get something out of them. What happened really stinks. No pun. Best of luck. Let us know.
  19. You can shoot for an 11 or 1130 boarding time. And still that's early. Nothing wrong with wanting early boarding. It just will be an hour or so later. Still early. Still fun. Enjoy.
  20. I wouldn't have left the ship without a better deal. I also would not have willingly gone back to that room before carpet, curtains etc were replaced. That was almost like saying it was good enough and they will hold that against you. Keep trying anyway.
  21. If you have a valid passport you should have no problem getting on board. The cruise line is never the problem. It's boarder agents. As far as disembarking at a port for excursions, I would need to know the ports and the conviction specifics. Having a valid passport and 20 plus years in the bank should cover many possibilities. A valid passport would be a great start.
  22. We didn't have any idea a DUI's in the past were even a thing till we looked into tsa precheck and that opened the doors to rules and laws around the world.
