  1. I always buy onboard simnply because I plan that being a "post" expense instead of a "pre" expense.

Did have the sticker come completely off once, Guest services looked me up and put another sticker on.

Had to get a replacement card one time (yes, I put it in my shirt pocket with my phone :( ), the new card had the Coke logo printed on.

  2. NoddyNYC The "Drink Card" is something that has been showing up sproadically (that I can tell) on some RCCL ships. From what I can tell it may be tied to potentially low bar revenues, as I've only noticed it being offered late in the cruise, not at first.

For example, Last week on Liberty, I saw them have a table set up in front of the Windjammer selling drink cards, good for 10 drinks (up to $12 each) for $67 + 18% gratuity = $79.06.  ($7.90 per drink).  This only appeared on the lasty 2 days of the week (Friday and Saturday), so I am assuming that it was being used as an incentive to generate additional bar income.

  3. Maho (the airport) is still rebuilding from the storms last summer.  All of the sand was washed away leaving only the rock/boulders.  We were there last September/October and no sand.  Don't know how much has built up since then.

The public beach in Phillipsburg was large, clean, all the amenities you could want.  No trees but many waterfront bars/grills rent umbrellas/chairs/tables... $2 water taxi ride right from the pier or a 20 minute walk... your choice.

  4. I never use the cup/tumbler provided.  I always get regular glasses from the bars, so I guess this is where the 18% comes in.

Going off on a tangent slightly, I know there have been many discussions about people saying they get ignored at the bars in favor of customers ordering something which may result in an additional tip (no receipt to sign on the soda package, therefore no place to add $$$).  I have never experienced this.

What I have noticed over the past year or so, is an understaffing of the bars in general, resulting in big backups.  This was very noticable last week on Liberty, with the worst cases \of understaffing being the pool, sky, schooner, and pub bars.  The casino always seemed to be well staffed, as was the plaza, solarium, R, and Olive/Twist.  I don't recall Boleros or star, and I didn't visit the built-ins on both levels of the theater.
