  1. I haven't sailed on an Oasis class yet, but have sailed on Quantum and Ovation. We loved the Quantum class. The iFly is a lot of fun. The North Star was cool, but the free version is all you need. We love the SeaPlex where you can do bumper cars, roller skate, and so many other activities.
  2. We are sailing on Utopia to Nassau in about 300 days. Just wondering with the excursion through Royal to Atlantis Aquaventure ever goes on sale or sells out. Thanks!
  3. Last summer we rented a car through turo at both of those ports. It was great being able to go whenever we wanted!
  4. Mine has done the same thing. I'm hoping it appears at some point.
  5. I've been getting that error and sometimes when it does "work" it shows me 10 days worth of menus for my 3 night cruise in a couple of weeks.
  6. Thanks! They are close together, but unfortunately far enough apart that I won't be able to check in for both first. The second cruise check in starts on Day 2 of the first cruise.
  7. We never get the internet package when we sail, because we enjoy being disconnected from life and enjoying the moment. However, we just booked a cruise with our friends and I discovered that the check-in for that cruise is while we are on our Spring Break cruise (I never thought we would ever have two sailings so close together...). Since you can use Royal's app while onboard without an internet package, and when on land you can use the app to check-in, would I be able to check-in on the app without an internet package? If not can you purchase internet access for a day or just a few hours, instead of a package for the whole trip? Thanks!
  8. Thanks everyone for the answers. Based on your responses and seeing all the different things to consider we reached out to a travel agent, which we usually don't use. They were able to help us get 3 cabins for the two families at a great price! Our friends trip is successfully booked for next year!
  9. We are looking at doing a cruise on Navigator next summer with some friends. Our family is two adults two kids. They are two adults 4 kids. We were pricing out two cabins for them, then they had the thought and wondered if it would be less expensive if we each book a cabin that holds 5. Their oldest would be on our reservation and stay in our room. Our oldest and theirs are only a couple months apart in age and best friends. What things do we need to consider and have available if we have a child not related to us on our reservation? Even with her parents also sailing would we need to have additional documentation with permission from her parents? Anything else we might need to know? Do you think this would actually be cheaper than booking two cabins for their family?
  10. Awesome thank you! I booked it this morning! 43 days until we sail!
  11. We have never done a specialty dining before. I was looking at the Jamie's lunch menu and saw it had pasta and main dishes listed separately. Are you able to choose a pasta and a main dish, or do you have to choose one or the other? Thanks!
  12. Only two so far (Quantum and Radiance), but have ships 3 & 4 (Ovation and Utopia) booked!
  13. @JFCruise We are back from our cruise. Here is our experience. As far as your question on parking: In Sitka we found a free parking lot right by Centennial Hall that was in walking distance of the main streets. In Sitka we also went on a hike, to the Raptor Center, and Fortress of the Bears and never had trouble finding free parking. In Juneau we went to Mendenhall visitor center and DIPAC fish hatchery. Parking was easy and free at both. The owner of our Turo told us we could use the parking garage on Franklin street. Not sure if that is because the garage is free, or if they had a pass for their vehicle. Now my thoughts on using Turo in Alaska. A few months before our trip, our booking in Juneau was cancelled b/c the owner didn't want to do Turo any longer so we re-booked a different car. Then a few weeks before we left our booking in Sitka was cancelled b/c their car broke down and they had to ship it to Seattle for maintenance. Then an hour before the ship left Vancouver our re-booked car in Sitka also cancelled for maintenance. Luckily we hadn't started sailing yet and still had cell service and were able to book a now 3rd vehicle for Sitka. As far as checking-in and getting around. We use T-mobile. We had zero service in every port. My brother uses Verizon and my parents AT&T. My brother had some service and my parents had the best service. We were on Roaming in every port with T-mobile. So unless you have AT&T be prepared to pay roaming charges to check in on the Turo app and if you need GPS to drive around the ports. Final thoughts. Would I use Turo again, yes, but only if I was with someone with AT&T. We loved the freedom of having our own vehicle and I bet we just got unlucky with how many cancellations we had!
  14. Going to Alaska on Radiance on July 12th!
  15. Our cruise leaves on the 12th and we are doing exactly that! We have rented a car via Turo in both Sitka and Juneau. I'll try to remember to come back here after our cruise and tell you about our experience.
  16. That is the tour we are doing! I'm super excited for it. And thanks for the answer. We will plan on carrying it off ourselves then!
  17. Our itinerary says we are arrive in Seward at 6am. I can't remember if that means 6am is when we can start disembarking or if that is just the time the ship arrives. We are looking at doing a boat tour in Seward that leaves at 8 am and check-in at 7-7:30am. It is through a 3rd party. From other's experience do you think we will be able to get off the ship in time? Also would it be faster to carry all of our luggage off ourselves, or put our bags out in the hall the night before? We have only done one cruise before and didn't have a reason to rush off the ship last time, so I don't know what will be the faster option. Thanks!!
  18. I've tried looking at the deck plans, but can't find where the soft serve station is located on Radiance. Can someone tell me where it is located? Boarding in 18 days and the kids (and me) are looking forward to an ice cream cone! Thanks!
  19. Yay!! Just made our final payment for our 2nd Alaska cruise! Sailing July 12th!
  20. I was just coming here to see if it was just me. I wanted to price out a cruise for Oct. of '25. I checked the website and the app and they are missing from both.
  21. Today's post on the main page about checking in using the app for cruises out of Vancouver left me with a couple of questions. We are sailing out of Vancouver this summer and traveling with my parents who are booked in another room. Our reservations are linked. Will I be able to do the check in on the app for them as well since our reservations are linked if they give me all of the required info? My main concern is wanting to get the same port arrival time, and I can't see my parents doing their own check in on the app. Thanks!!
  22. Not sure what ship you are on, but when we did Quantum last summer they provided climbing shoes. You just needed socks. I assume it's the same on all ships.
  23. We did Alaska last summer and did excursions through Royal. 2 Adults 2 kids and spent ~$2k on the excursions. We did something in every port. We are doing Alaska again this summer and this time we are doing 3rd party. We are spending ~$1600 this year, but doing some more adventurous things than last summer. There are a lot of 3rd party tour companies in Alaska that do the exact same tours as Royal at a cheaper cost. I'd recommend looking 3rd party.
