  1. Unfortunately, no. It does not include any restaurants, which is a let down because we are usually getting ready for dinner at 5, and then dining around 6pm, so it negates almost all free drinks for us. They really need to move to Royal's concept of 4 free drinks per day. I have utilized that and it is much easier. I found that was the only downside to Celebrity's 'perks'. Free drinks while playing in the casino though which I've tried to heavily utilize.
  2. Thank you guys for those options, I will stop worrying now lol. I really like the 'flashcards' idea for all the dining menus, I'll have to try that out! Hopefully I will know more information after I call and book it and afterwards I call tell you all how it went and what I would or wouldn't do differently.
  3. My family and I are about to book a cruise for this summer but had a question and wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. My MIL's sister (75ish) is coming to visit from Korea for a few weeks and one of the things she wants to do while in the U.S. is a cruise. She does not speak any English and my MIL would have to translate literally everything for her. My MIL gets overwhelmed by this and can't process 2 languages at once for too long. (Went to Korea and she stopped talking for a few hours bc she was so overwhelmed and just couldn't get the words out in either language.) I hope to avoid that as I don't want her to be stressed while her sister is here just trying to have a good time. Now the rest of us know some Korean, mostly pleasantries and stuff, but we can't hold a conversation. So, my question is, are there language interpreters (preferably Korean) onboard? How will she order food, ect? I know we can use the translator apps but they are both not tech savvy and hoping I can get recommendations on how to go about this cruise without it being frustrating for all involved. Am I able to ask for a Korean speaking waiter? Can they speak Korean at the help desk? If she just points at something she wants will they be rude or will they help her? (We are going to help in everyway we can but this is in case we are somehow not around) How is customs going to go? Will they have someone asking her questions in Korean or will my MIL have to help? Do I call in advance of the cruise and see if they will have a Korean speaker on board or can I request one? (I guess I'm the one being overwhelmed at the moment lol) This is completely different than an American going over to Korea because they have English translations on almost everything, whereas here it's completely different. It will be a complete culture shock so (other than learning more Korean) I'm trying to find the best possible solution of her having nice vacation within her vacation.
  4. Was just on Freedom in January and I noticed at least two instances of people with their loud music speakers. Walking into the Solarium couldn't figure out why it was so noisy and sound wasn't clear but then I realized I was walking behind a teen with music blasting out of the speakers she was holding, clashing with the ship's pool deck music. She kept it on the same volume inside and outside and saw this a few times during the cruise, with the speaker on. The worst though was when I went looking for chairs in the Solarium, only to be greeted by really loud rap music with tons of cuss words (I love me some rap but not in a quiet Solarium). It was coming from a speaker that 2 couples lounging about in the big hot tub had with them. That was my cue to get some snacks and come back. I came back about five minutes later and it was quiet again but I just felt so bad for the few people around them trying to read and take a nap. The initial scene, however, as I came across it, was completely comical. Please everyone, earbuds!
  5. Booked a last minute, can't pass up offer for the sailing out of Miami on the Celebrity Silhouette Feb 23-27 2023. This is our first cruise on a Celebrity ship so we can't wait to see what the ship has to offer!
  6. This happened to me but only when trying to re-price my booked cruise. I got all the way to the end and hit discounts and it was more $ than it was a few minutes prior. I have learned to get the best price, you want to put in all the discount codes right before you add in names. But if you think the cruise is cheaper than when you booked, the only way to change the price is to call and ask if there are any price adjustments on your room. Royal has a strange system.
  7. My husband and I went to orient beach on our last cruise from the Symphony of the Seas back in May 2022. They will drive you to the beach and when you get there, they will point out that if you walk further down, it is where the nude sunbathers were located. We never walked down that way. The beach wasn't super packed but there were a good number of people there. The only nudity I saw was from one topless woman walking down the beach.
  8. Am I able to bring a plug-in heating pad (generic CVS one) onboard? I see it says no heating appliances but this isn’t really an appliance. Has anyone taken one and not been able to take it on board?
  9. We’re on the 4/30 Symphony and I’ve done so many mock bookings yesterday my head is about to spin. In the morning most of the suites available from previous days were still there, 4 hours later only one of each and like 30 minutes after that only a GJS. I think they’re playing around with the rooms bc all those suites can’t be sold out in 4 hours and then temporarily put back on, then off again as they were doing all day yesterday. I’ve stopped looking at it and am impatiently awaiting the royalup email lol.
