Yes i have confirmed it with royal a few minutes ago, and its 2 days for antigen for vaccinated people and 3 days for unvaccinated kids (PCR test only)  doesn't matter what time of the day.

    Happy days 😂

You're past the time frame needed to order and receive monitored self tests (eMed or Optum, BinaxNow, among others) for boarding purposes. I assume you will have the required Antigen test to enter the US.

Options in order of overall ease and decreasing stress levels for getting the testing you need is (1) a Rapid Antigen Test taken in the Miami Airport. You'll get the necessary had copy test results in hand before you leave. Just insure the timing is right and it may not be since you report that you are arriving on a Friday and have to clear boarding protocols on Sunday.

So, if your flight arrives at 1030h on Friday, your test is resulted at 11:30 and you are scheduled to board Allure at 1130 on Sunday (48h later) if you board after that, your test has been resulted more than 48h before boarding - won't work.

Just watch that and adjust accordingly. No appointments are needed for in-airport testing but if you can make one, I'd do that (head of the line if there is one) and (2) A local Walgreens or CVS Pharmacy. I looked this up for someone else asking a similar question and I recommended using a Walgreens that has a University of Miami Health Care System clinic inside. You can schedule your test in advance by actually talking to a real person instead of the hated bots and do all your registration on line in advance. The downside of a CVS or Walgreens is that you have to Uber/Lyft from your hotel and back. If that pharmacy is close to where you are staying drivers don't like short trips and will pass on it - it can be hard on Fridays. Saturdays, less hard.

Good luck. Don't stress, it's not going to be hard to get what you need.

Just confirmed with royal its not 48h its 2 days at any time, pheeeeww you had me getting worried.

I don't think this would be a problem for us, unless we're unable to get a noon boarding for some reason and have to pick 1pm. At most, if everything went perfectly (we're also going to make a stop to grab 2-3 things), we might be 10-15 minutes early, and wouldn't mind waiting. Late is more of my concern if the flight or luggage or ride get delayed, and sounds like it could go either way if we are late.

Are there certain boarding times that are more popular and "sell out" quickly?

The earlier ones go a lot more quicker.

You could likely play with margins or zooming in or out.  I just use the "snipping tool" and copy/paste each one onto a word document.  I had both mine and Mr. SpeedNoodles on one page last time we cruised and they just ripped it in half because they wanted to deal with us separately.  (That makes  us sound difficult to deal with.  We're not.  It was just easier for them to have all of his records in one pile and all of mine in another).

Can we not print and just use a digital copy?

We have always sailed RC and are looking at sailing Celebrity in Alaska in 2023. We sailed Alaska on Ovation in 2019 and loved it. With the new Celebrity sailing, we would only repeat one stop, Juneau and we would get to sail to Hubbard Glacier which is a plus. We are looking at Sailing in a sky suite on Celebrity which appears comparable to a Junior Suite on Ovation but with complete suite benefits not normally available to a Junior Suite on Royal. Price wise when you add in all the extras the price on Celebrity is the same or a little less than on Ovation or Quantum and a little more than on Radiance. We are afraid to pull the trigger and just need some reassurances that Celebrity has great things to offer also. For all of you that have sailed both, please give me your opinions.

Hello, i have only always cruised om Royal, but my parents have done both, and they always say celebrity is more directed to an older age group... Retired.

They do enjoy Royal a lot more, but this is just there personal opinion.

With final payment dates shifting all over the place, and RoyalUp not being available on every sailing, I'm wondering when people have been seeing RoyalUp emails coming across for recent cruises.

I have a cruise scheduled for 2/20 (final payment date was this past weekend), and I'm wondering when I can expect to see a RoyalUp email come across, if it's going to.

What's everyone's recent experience been? How soon after final payment date/before your sailing have you seen RoyalUp offers?

Im boarding 5th of feb and got email last week.

    Hey

Anyone know when we can expect health and safety protocols for 2022 sailings departing from Europe.?

Any hope we can drop using masks on cruises this summer, as many european country`s now are startin lift all/ ease covid restrictions.?

Very difficult to predict here in Spain when we thought new normality was back, Omicron arrived and all mask restrictions came back, but hopefully soon all will drop, but who knows 🙄

    Hello neighbour! 😊

I paid by card. Initially, I booked the cruise I wanted on Royal's US website (you can change the website country at the top of the home page) to get the booking in dollars. When you do that you have to pay the deposit on the website immediately. I then emailed Michelle with the booking number and asked her to take the booking over. She replied within a few hours (remember she's 6 hours behind you so there's bound to be a bit of a delay) to say she was processing it and then in the next couple of days I received emails both from her and from Royal confirming that the process was complete. She also sent me a form to sign electronically confirming the booking was to be handled by her.

When it was time to pay the balance, she sent me details with a form that I could email back to her and her phone number to call, if I preferred,  to give her the card details. The thing that is different from here in Europe is that she will use your card to pay Royal directly. She does not ever hold any of your money the way travel agents do here, so your card statement will show payment to Royal. For this reason, it's probably not possible to pay by transfer, although you could ask. I didn't bother because I wanted to take advantage of the travel insurance provided by the card.

However, you don't have to book on the website if you prefer not to. Simply send her an email telling her what you're looking for and she'll get back to you with suitable suggestions. That way, you will sometimes get access to group rates that are cheaper than the prices you see on Royal's website.

Sorry if I've given you a ton of information you didn't really need; I just wanted to be as helpful as possible. 😊

Wow! Thanks a lot for all that info, it is very helpful indeed 🙂

I would not rely on anything verbal

get it in writing, use email.

    anything else is hearsay.

We have decided to just get the booster when we fly back, there is too much in jeopardy, because even if royal says yes, what if up on entry to the USA they say NO, or even maybe test positive because of the jab i have been reading today it has happend????or even the jab give us a fever and maybe not be able to board flight and cruise.. Just makes me so nervous... So as we only had our last jab 5 months ago & we are young and healthy, hopefully we will be OK till we get back.

    Thanks all for your help.

To be honest, information from RCL Customer Service, especially as it applies to pre-boarding COVID testing can be unreliable. If you get a "no, your vaccine record won't work," you have two options: (1) Call back and wait on hold to get another poorly informed CSR who may or may not give you the green light or (2) assume your digital shot record will be fine - and I think it will be. RCL has to be used to the EU digital COVID Certificates. You might encounter ship's staff sailing out of US ports who may not have seen these but, I feel confident that if the right person in guest relations is contacted by check in staff, a quick response saying those will work fine will follow. Up to you but I can't imagine you being denied boarding with a hard copy pint out of your COVID Certificate.

I also have hard copy of my current status wich is valid 2/2 wich i could show, maybe just use this?

Great, you should be good as long as you can show that (I can see the entry that shows when you were vaxed). Looks to be in the same format as my Swiss Pass. I'd print out a hard copy to be safe just in case your phone stops working. Guarantee, if you have kids, they'll forget to charge them. Obviously, you still need the required pre-boarding negative COVID tests and I think we had the discussion of how you were going to do that and it looked good too.

So after i queried with royal and explained that thw certificate only showes the last vaccine date im my case the booster and would show 26th of Jan, she now needs to check this out and come back to me as she is not sure if this could be a problem. So lets see what she comes back with, but surely if it says 3/3 its obvious my secon jab that makes me fully vaccinated is more than 14 says ago.

Natalfaz, do you and your family members each have an EU Digital COVID (Vaccination) Certificate on your phones? I assume you have the paper copies. I have a Swiss COVID Certificate (parallels the features of the EU Certificate). Mine lists vaccine type, product, manufacturer and date of vaccination. It also says 3/3 under dose. The paper copy is going to be key - print one out for each family member. There's a QR code on your digital certificates. QR code readers in countries outside the EU may not be able to scan your digital certificate's QR code.

Hiya, this is what it looks like.

I would be nervous about this personally. they are looking at the last date on your card.  I got my booster so I would have at least a month grace period before my next sailing.  But if i didn't have those 14 days, i'd wait until after and just have them see my last vax shot.

here is what RC twitter told me:

Hi, there. The final dose of the vaccine has to be completed at least 14 days before sailing. If the booster falls within that time frame then you can add it. If not then The last vaccine administered that completed the final dose. -

Hello, this is the answer from royal :

Hey, Natasha,. Since we don't require the booster, we aren't concerned with the date you received it. -Gwen

You’re not required to have a booster to cruise on Royal Caribbean.  As long as your original 2nd Pfizer, 2nd Moderna, or 1 J&J was at least 14 days before your cruise, you’re good.

The thing is they way they do the vaccine card here in Spain, they donr put the date of each vaccine, they just state the latest date of thw vaccine, although it does say 3/3  so you would think it obvious that thw previous ones are with in well before the 14 days?  Wow the amount of things we have to worry about to cruise ahaha.

I use Michelle Cunningham. [email protected]

I found her recommended here on the boards and have been very happy with her service.

One thing to bear in mind is that your cruise pricing has to be in US dollars so the exchange rate against your currency may sometimes be in your favour and sometimes not.

I live in Spain so will be the same as you Euros😊 how do you do the payments, by card or transfer?
