  1. Actually, I do care. I know folks look forward to getting all dressed up for a night out at a nice place, and I do my best to respect that. Dress your best is doable for me, as there's nothing I can wear to look really dressed up. It's far easier for my Wife. A nice top and even slacks, and she looks quite dressy.
  2. In fairness... Although I have never had a good hotdog at the Dog House, their sausage dog however is far better. I still had to throw the bun away, as it sat in the warmer way too long and was quite dried out. I went quite a few cruises since I last visited the Dog House. I also thought last month on Symphony I'd try it again. Nothing had changed. A person might ask why I didn't ask for a fresh hotdog and/or bun. Some of you might remember I had an ordeal even getting mustard from them, so I was just done.
  3. I like hotdogs. I have found the Dog House to be disappointing. Now, if I want a Hot Dog, I will get it from Wind Jammer. They will be fresher, far less tough, and the bun will be fresher.
  4. Some folks hate the food, some folks hate the mattresses. Ya can't make just one mattress to please everybody. I find the mattresses to be just fine .
  5. Nope. The rack was empty. We were told they didn't have any, anywhere. Wasn't waiting in line behind 30 people to ask for sure. And our cabin attendant on this cruise, we almost never saw her, so we didn't ask her, either.
  6. On Navigator recently, the last 3-cruises, we received them daily as soon as we asked our attendant. On Symphony recently, we didn't see a single one, even at guest services.
  7. I showed 'em. I cut back to a 12 pack for each of our next 3 cruises. For me, the convenience still outweighs the cost.
  8. Adding to the magnet discussion... We like refrigerator magnets. The selection has diminished somewhat, and in some cases they've not been available at all. But what we've found available when magnets have not been available, is keychains. A dab of glue on the back to attach a magnet, and voila!
  9. As is my Wife. I get left at home for the Sep 29th cruise.
  10. I know folks say no, it can't happen, and it's not supposed to happen, but not everybody has seen that memo... My Wife and I cruised recently with our adult son. The first cruise of his life, but his sea pass card definitely said Diamond. And the misunderstandings and questions continue.
  11. Again, the 5th identical booking on Navigator since November of '22 . And this one, because some friends we met for the first time on Navigator in 2022 texted us to say they were booking this cruise, and invited us to join them. And also because it's a great cruise.
  12. And 5-years ago, with Royal, we cruised Seattle-Astoria-San Francisco-Victoria-Seattle. Even in the summer, it was not a warm weather cruise, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  13. In the last two days, I've completed booking two more 7-Night Mexican Riviera cruises on Navigator from Los Angeles. That's 3 for the two of us, and 2 for my Wife and other friends or family. That makes five bookings on this ship since last fall. Why would we concentrate so much on one ship with the same itinerary each time? Well, I've been envious of the folks that live close to the ports in Florida or elsewhere. A quick jaunt to the port for them and voila! We're taking advantage of an effortless 2-hour flight to L.A. on the same day as the cruise, and in the same time zone. The airfare is less than half the cost of flying to Florida, and a hotel is not needed. I know flights can be late or cancelled, so that's taking a chance flying the day of the cruise, but flights from PDX to LAX are so frequent, if our flight was cancelled, we'd likely find a replacement flight at the next counter. When we cruise from Florida, most of the folks we meet are from the Southeastern states. And when we cruise from L.A., most of the folks we meet are from the Western states. Sounds like other Westerners already knew what we've discovered. And the Mexican Riviera is wonderful! I don't think the cruise industry is represented seriously in Los Angeles, but now being frequent cruisers from there, we're learning the ropes.
  14. In our experience, the nicest is Miami. We wait in nice chairs or couches in the suite lounge with coffee, juice and pastries, while the folks come to us to complete the check- in. As soon as the ship is open, we board the ship. At 10:30-ish, we were in the suite lounge. Very slightly later, the ship was open for us and we boarded. In other ports, the suite lounge is a bunch of chairs in the port, with beverages and treats available. In L.A., the only amenity is our own line. Nothing more is provided. These suite lounges are all different, and sometimes non-existent. But no matter what, I sure appreciate the abbreviated line and check-in.
  15. We recently cruised Symphony from Miami, Feb 25th-Mar 4th. Junior Suite. Arrived at the port early and were immediately ushered into the suite lounge at the terminal and onto the ship. We've done Navigator recently also, from L.A. Also JS. Definitely priority boarding.
  16. Mostly I've seen very few receipts, and I don't recall ever seeing a drinks remaining number posted on the receipt. When I ask at the bar, they tell me how many drinks I have left.
  17. And already I must amend my previous post. My Wife and her brother just got off Navigator yesterday. In just a months time, they have decided to really clamp down on when they serve the second entree. They absolutely hold off serving the second entree until the first one is consumed.
  18. I've been on two cruises very recently. On Navigator, we shared a table for six. Any one of us could order additional entrees without question. We could order them as two complete meals, or we could order a complete meal with an extra entree without the side fixins. On lobster night, I/we ordered lobster and steak, and some of our tablemates asked for them to be served simultaneously. They were served together without issue. I didn't care, so even though I did not ask for them to be served together, they were still delivered close together. The next cruise, on Symphony, there were only 3 of us at our table, all family. I don't think any of us specified if we wanted our second entree served simultaneously, but again, the food came so close together, it didn't matter. I will say, the lobster came first, on its own plate. The steak came along before we could even get into the lobster, and without even a suggestion, our server shucked all our lobsters and slid both entrees and side fixins onto one plate. And I've gotta say, our waiter and assistant waiter were absolutely wonderful.
  19. Neither. Neither. I like it how it's always been. Our cabin attendant always seems to magically know when I'm away from the cabin, and magically, when I return, everything is ship-shape. And if there's a change, I've never noticed.
  20. Not really, but it no longer matters. I understand, rules are rules, but for us, the rules have changed so often that I don't know what the most official rule change is the most correct. My wife and I both went into our previous cruise, each with 161 points shown by C&A. That was after many discussions to get the points corrected to this number. They agreed at that time! Now, I'm down to 147, and I don't understand this either, they said because we didn't "share" a room, I also don't get credit for my last Jr. Suite, which on paper, I was solo. See? Whatever rules they're enforcing, they convolute it with other new rules. And when I discuss these issues, either on-board with a concierge, on the phone, or via email, they never understand the points I am trying to make, and they insert more rules that have nothing to do with the discussion. Again, I give up. I have no more hair to spare. It is what it is.
  21. Update... Royal no longer is allowing my Wife and I to share points. We don't always cruise together, so they have taken away any points, from both of us, if we didn't earn them together in the same cabin. On our latest cruise, my Wife booked a room separate from me, so we could bring family along. She is not given credit for my room, nor do I get credit for her room. Bottom line, in the stroke of a keyboard, they've taken 14 points away from me. I'm tired. They win.
  22. I was on Symphony very recently. When I saw another passenger struggling to make his Wow band work in the casino, I was glad I did not have a Wow band.
  23. I keep reading this on this forum, but I've tried and they say a free day of internet, or buy the full package with no discount. They will not discount the package for one day of free internet. That's a problem. Royal is inconsistent. One passenger is treated one way, the next passenger is denied.
