As long as it still floats it'll be fine to get out of there to wherever the closest shipyard is that can handle it.

Stay away from Enchantment of Seas
smokeybandit replied to Zacksk's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes. There's no way the photos above are from Enchantment or any ship in the fleet. -
RC likely just has to accommodate the next 2 cruises since after drydock the channel almost assuredly will be open again. I would think they'd try an alternate port since it's just 2 cruises. Might be more of a PITA but at least there's still revenue flowing.

October will be perfectly fine. It's the cruises through April and maybe into May that'll have issues. After that the only difference will be lack of a bridge.

Authorities have called off search and rescue ops for the missing people.

Carnival is temporarily moving to norfolk.

I assume that means they've canceled now through May instead of just through April.

Interesting way to wake up this thread.

You'll see people in gym shorts and a t-shirt in the MDR every night.

Someone on twitter posted the audio call from Baltimore police dispatch out to all units. Quite eerie.

The Chesapeake Bay has a litany of special environmental concerns. It's going to be a long time before that bridge is rebuilt. They'll likely just focus on clearing the channel to re-open shipping, then tear down the rest of the superstructure to get it out of the way while they begin thinking about a rebuild.

https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/03/26/royal-caribbean-working-options-its-cruise-ships-following-baltimore-bridge-collapse RC is a little bit lucky in that they don't need to figure things out ASAP since Vision is on a long cruise. I would imagine they'll wait a day or two until they get some info from local authorities as to when the port will be able to open again. Obviously having that channel closed is a major problem well beyond cruising, so there will be urgency to get it re-opened.

Even worse if there were 2 harbor pilots on board.

There are reports the ship lost power.

That's insane. They're going to have to disembark somewhere else. Along with the human tragedy, that's going to be a nightmare for months, even years to come for the region. And while trying to avoid being completely crass about the disaster, a new potentially taller bridge sure makes things interesting for the future of cruising in Baltimore.

Should I be concerned?

Sorry, I was thinking cruise itself. You are correct for cruise planner items. -
Should I be concerned?

You don't get refunded if price changes. You just get the lower fare reflected on your final balance due. -
Utopia of the Seas Question

I'll be curious if the dog concept sticks for Star. -
He did have collared Lions shirts on formal and dress your best, so I'll give him that.
