  1. We’re actually considering doing the 3 nighter from the 13-16…instead of doing Disney stuff. If the price is right………..we’ll see! UPDATE: The price was not right so we will still act like big kids after the cruise!
  2. I would say definitely Welcome Aboard on night 1 and Bon Voyage on Night 3. Not sure of the night in the middle though.
  3. Snack Shack is very close to South Beach as is a very nice restroom and small sports area. I prefer South Beach over the other beach areas on the island. It’s not too far of a walk to grab the buffet food either…but Snack Shack gets you fries, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, brownies, and funnel cakes.
  4. Hello @Bella Norlander and congratulations on your marriage! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness. Along with what has already been mentioned by @SpeedNoodles and @ChessE4…hopefully you have already checked in on the app to get your boarding (arrival) time at the port. The next 32 days are going to fly by! In just a couple more days your eDocs will be ready to print which will include your luggage tags, etc. Two things I will mention: 1: You can check for sales on the cruise planner up to 48 hours before you sail…if you have purchased anything (wi-fi, beverages, excursions, etc) there may be a possibility something will go on sale. Since July Fourth is next week there’s a good chance a sale is on the horizon. 2: No matter what…be sure to ENJOY every minute of your honeymoon!!
  5. Actually I do believe the body wash can also be used as shampoo…I’ve seen this in some hotels. It usually says it on the bottle. Not that I would use body wash as shampoo (or conditioner!) but I do think it’s meant to be multifunctional! Since I use special products for my white hair, I typically bring small travel sized bottles with me…. I know you purchased some from the salon but you should ask your room steward if there is any single shampoo and conditioner bottles available. Im enjoying your blog so far…thanks for taking the time for this! I’d love to see pictures of the cruise ship…Brilliance was the first ship my husband and I sailed on together!
  6. Specialty dining packages can be costly. I think it depends on what ship you are sailing on and for how many nights. Personally I have never bought additional dining…and I’ve never gone hungry !
  7. I was just trying to have my granddaughter put the app on her phone. She tried creating an account but cannot since she will not be 13 until end of August and the app says must be 13 to create an account. Guess she will have to log in as one of her sisters?
  8. I would have loved to pay the price our friends paid today but when I booked this cruise earlier this year the JS was pretty reasonable and getting 8 points is going to put me at Emerald. Long way to go for the next level but I have vowed that with or without my husband I will reach Diamond before I am too old to enjoy it! Already am just a few years from 70 (!!!) so we’ll see! Gotta stay healthy I guess!
  9. That’s awesome! Yes…it would be great to meet you! I’ve always enjoyed your posts…and you’ll be Pinnacle by then…WOW! Are you in a suite?
  10. Great sale today on Spacious Balcony rooms. I have a JS which has not gone below the great price I paid since I BOOKED! However, I just booked a room for our friends who have become our cruise partners for $982.60! He is a fireman and the deal was just too good to pass up. Best thing is the Spacious Balcony right next to our JS was available so we will be opening our balconies and enjoying our vacation! I still have not told my husband about this cruise. The 3 of us who now know my secret are going to plan something to spring it on him. Now that they are joining us I think my husband will have less of a chance to get ! I know he will be fine…he’s definitely mellowing in his “older age”!
  11. I get the point about location and money making but I have to agree with @Cruiser3812 and @loki007. Labadee is much more relaxing than Coco Cay as far as “beaching” goes. I do prefer the food at Coco Cay, especially the Snack Shack items but the overall atmosphere is more low key at Labadee and I guess that is why I prefer it. I’m looking forward to my little Labadee cruise in November!
  12. Not with this deal…but you get a $25 gift card for BJ’s. And BJ’s covered the deposit of $200…just had to pay $24.99 processing fee. Good Luck!
  13. My experience with the prime rib is more like @WAAAYTOOO. I have never gotten a decent cut! It’s either too rare…too tough…too grisly…too fatty…or too overdone for my liking. I stopped ordering it even though I am a true beef lover!
  14. I think that’s a pretty decent price for refundable. My price (booked through BJ’s…first time using TA) for a OV Balcony, refundable, is $1321! I think I got a steal of a deal…really! Our room is also midship which typically costs a bit more than aft…I never even look at forward as I would never book that. Thinking about what @WAAAYTOOOsaid earlier my per night cost is $330 and that is for 2 people so $165 per person. Seems reasonable to me since that includes shows, food, sleeping, don’t you agree?
  15. Yeah I think it’s hit or miss with parking in the garage. When I arrived last August it was around 9:15 and the garage was blocked off since the previous passengers were still leaving! I drove around and parked along the water for about 15 minutes or so and then tried again to get into the garage. it was just opening for new parking and I entered and found a spot immediately! You just never know what timing is best to arrive to grab the garage parking!
  16. Exactly what I ended up doing…but not before I booked my own reservation as refundable. Lucky for me I did refundable because I now have the same OVBalcony booked for September and paying $600+ less! I never used a TA before as I love doing everything myself BUT I had to give in this time because the $$ I’m saving will most likely pay for at least my drink package and possibly a nice chunk of my husband’s!
  17. Booked OV Balcony…got great deal. Cruising with friends who have become our cruising buddies! Hubby’s birthday is 9/11 so we will celebrate at sea! After cruise we will spend a few more days…acting like big kids…and head to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs!
  18. Yes the prices in cruise planner are outrageous however we have over 400 days to find better prices…meaning sales! Black Friday is always a great deal at least for some things!
  19. I’m not from Florida but we are planning to stay in Orlando for 3 or 4 days after our cruise and of course…1 day before! Only reason I booked is to experience a fairly new cruise ship. I also WISH I could have booked the inaugural cruise but my money isn’t that disposable!
  20. I’m booked for Sept 2-6 (refundable). I also have Sept 9-13 on hold (my husband’s BD is 9/11 so we’d be onboard for that). Just waiting for our friends who cruise with us to come to a decision on which date works. We will be staying in Orlando for 3 or 4 days after the cruise to make it worthwhile! Booked OVBalcony. UPDATE: Cancelled Sept 2 and booked Sept 9. Our friends got an unbelievable deal from BJ’s SO this will be my first time ever using a TA! Feels strange having to hand over the reigns! I have always loved doing all my own leg work, etc. But we saved almost $400 by booking with BJ’s TA AND it’s a refundable rate so actually saved over $600!
  21. Some of the prices are already higher now from when they first appeared at 10:30pm. At this point I have an OV balcony booked (refundable). What I really want is a Sky JS but would most likely have to settle for a JS since there is a $2,000 difference (crazy!) between JS and Sky JS!
  22. What ship? You can look at the Cruise Compass section and hopefully find a recent one for your ship. Just click Cruise Compass at the top of this page in the blue banner.
  23. I ended up booking Labor Day but as refundable so at least I can cancel if I decide to do something different. We’ll see! Very limited room selections! I will probably call in the morning to ask if any other decks or rooms are available that aren’t showing.
  24. I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for saying it out loud! My question is: at what time will the website make the info public? Will it be right after midnight like it is for checking in?
