  1. Couldn't agree more ... we should be allowed to travel at our own risk, and now that vaccines lower/mitigate the risk we pose to others I think it's not unreasonable to expect people to be vaccinated before travelling
  2. Yep agree. Over here in the UK there is a lot of talk in recent days about travel to other European countries...Spain is courting letting Brits in if vaccinated, Cyprus has already confirmed fully vaccinated Brits will be allowed in from May 1st. There's others coming through, but take your point about whether we'd want to travel to these countries. I would take a cruise to nowhere on Anthem from Southampton along as we cruise the Med for the sunny summer weather.

  4. Oh apologies, thought this article was accessible to everyone and not hidden behind their payroll....I'll just pop in and post some exerts....
  5. I think they mean that domestic cruising is assigned to that part of the road map out of lockdown ... the part that is currently slated as 17th May...ie if they move the 17th May date out, then everything slated to reopen at that time moves out to a new date. I take it as a positive that cruising (albeit domestic) has been specified and added to the road map out of lockdown.

  8. Ah I'm on the Anthem the week after you guys...I'll wave as we pass in the cruise terminal ? ... but good news today about International cruising out of the UK this summer...fingers crossed for all of us Anthem bound cruisers.
  9. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/03/09/travel-news-holiday-abroad-covid-restrictions-spain-portugal/ This is a round up of the Travel news bulletins from today in the UK... lots of cruise posts, insights and statements... International cruising likely to be up and running this summer, and testing (of health protocols) already done in Europe...the update at 3.47pm is an interesting read... Thought fellow cruisers would like to see some positive cruise news for once... enjoy ?
  10. After a long day vaccinating ... that's great news that I get 125%, but shame the Fjords will have to wait for another year.
  11. I've just booked 2 B2B 7 night cruises for May ... within 60 days so had to pay full price. I have always got the cruise with confidence 48hr cancellation full refund policy as a backup. But, either I'll be moving my remote working from locked down ?? house to balcony on the Anthem OTS with panoramic views of the Fjords with great food on tap, or RCL suspends May sailings and gives me 125% FCC on full payment (suite and solo prices). Win Win ?...
  12. Well I know what I'll be trying to spy this weekend ... reduced single supps ?. @twangster when you booked with a ghost and still got double points - is that the same everytime the other person doesn't show? Or was it pot luck you got double points?
  13. @twangster thanks for the prompt response. If I put myself in as the ghost would I get the ghosts cruise points? As well as the cruise points as the 1st traveller...?
  14. Hi, I have been looking at pricing for single cruising on RCCL website and you're getting stung more than double for single occupancy. It would make more sense (cheaper) to book double occupancy and turn up alone - although I wouldn't get double points. I have just tried to put through 2 passengers through the booking process online with RCCL - where I put my details in twice (and my C&A no. in against both 'Emilys'). It allows it and gets all the point of asking for a deposit... My question - would I get double points when I turn up as 1 person (and morally paid twice)? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer or knows where I can find the answer. Em
  15. Hello - I'm curious about booking double occupancy then deliberately turning up solo (as price solo and paying for 2 is virtually the same, worthwhile leaving door open for a relative or friend who may want a holiday if free to go...) I know if no-one takes up my second passenger slot that I can simply turn up solo. However, I want to book a drinks package in advance and do not consume alcoholic beverages. I believe everyone in the same cabin also needs to have a beverage package as well. So my questions are: 1. Does the second passenger need to have a drinks passenger in advance of boarding (even though I'm planning to turn up in advance)? 2. Would I get refunded if the second passenger didn't turn and I had had to pre purchase a drinks package? 3. In general, if there were 2 passengers that travelled can I have the refreshment package whilst the 2nd passenger had a deluxe alcoholic package? 4. If the 2nd passenger was a child (albeit full fare) could I then have different types of refreshment packages within the same cabin? All wisdom welcome ?
